Bazz, howd you go about rawing+polishing your bars?

When i tried to raw my triumphs ages ago (when they were stock powdercoated toothpaste), i had a lot of trouble getting off the paint using paint stripper. it looked like shit so i painted black.
i dont know much about that sortof thing hah.

um i had to yous this paint stripper from super cheap i think it was 13 dollars and it has done 2 frames,1 pair of bars and 1 pair of forks.i had to like roughen up the surface on my bars than i stripped them it took so many coats to try strip them but each time after i would put a coat on and wipe of the paint i would sand it a bit untill it was all gone than i sprayed them with wd40 than got wet and dry sand paper stuff and got out the orbital sander lol:p.than i just polised them a couple of times than a real soft coat of clear over the top.ok a side on pic tommoz with no myspace touches lol.steel wool helps heaps with the polishing i was suprised with that

Lemontimes seat is too flat, that's why it looks a bit strange. Its not really an issue though.
My new paint has been sorted. Longest, most drawn out process ever. Painting it al matte black is much easier!

my bike is pretty crummy (ABD) and heavy probably going to sell my back wheel and just start fresh with an alright stock bike. was going to get new frame and cranks next but it will probably just easier to get new bike all together..

back wheel is hazard lite - 48h seafoam green with a 10t demolition anorexia and got a 28t kink sprocket and kmc kool chain..

de-stickered it, de-flanged it, sprayed irritating red dot on pc's and cut down the rear axle.
also put on some spare odi clamps, to stop the grips sliding and to try and stop water unsticking the grips.

Out of interest (mainly cos I don't wanna post another whole thread dedicated to *shudders* stickers), where can you buy cool stickers? I want a couple similar to Rhys' where you peel off both sides and leave the middle bit of sticker? BMX brands seem to do it better than MTB brands these days... So got any ideas?

i had flys previously and they certainly did not last for 6months!

id rather have to buy new grips every month and they be comfortable, than have a grip that hurts my hand (like flys did), but last longer.

you can get the a ross bars at strictly. i saw them in there last week.

Animal Edwins are the comfyest, My Fly grips took about 2 months to wear in, Even then they were still way too hard.

I had a black 25tooth tree on my mtb that I sold to cameo when I got my bmx because I was running 30-11 and I had a 30tooth tree.
THEN when I got my freecoaster with a 9tooth driver I wanted another 25tooth tree but the black ones were sold out. Indigo was the closest to black.
I've had it painted for a while. I wire brushed the paint off of it on saturday. Its nice I suppose. I'd prefer a black one though.

This is my 08 Eastern Element. I got it on Monday night. Its a scene kid bike. But I am not a scene kid as I can actually ride. White, massive wide bars, slim seat and a 9 tooth rear sprocket. I have put some black fly ruben grips on and am planning on buying some wellgo mg-52's. It rides well.:)

To replace my hollowbites, which were wearing out from pedal grinds right near the pedal boss, i got Macneil Conjoined cranks. They seem nice and stiff from riding lastnight. they dont rub onledges as much as my other cranks. I just wish they were black instead of white, but what can you do!

As for anyone who runs a gsport rim you will notice you get a shiet load of flats. and there all pinches. i run my tyres at about 80psi so its the rim. And i got the 3rim tape idea from a couple of other people who have the same problem.:D

due to having small dropouts im running a half link in my chain, but the chain tension is still heaps tight. does anyone know if this will have any negative consequences

Nah there not, it just looks so weird because its one of those shadow umbra seatposts or something, with the guts flipped upside down for mega slammage. Personally I dont like it.
