Personally i dont like all black bikes.
gotta mix things up,

eh, too hard to find a colour that id really like to have on my bike

next frame is the proper ttl in transluscent black, that should do enough to 'mix' up the colours abit without much difference

cool rhys, how did your s3 die? crack?

i stripped the top steerer tube bolt thread a few weeks ago and since then its been making a heap of noises when you put pressure on the bars. it also wouldnt clamp properly and would move if i dropped my bike too hard. it was time it went unfortunately.

dead! give it a good and proper burial. what happened to it? picspicspics of new and old stem!

see above as to why. it was a great stem and will always be remembered.

but!

i'll sell you my purple one for... hmm $60? my dallas cowboys hat is my new fav. I acually would rock the cubs one more than the pam if i was in your shoes.

back on topic, made a few little changes.

cut the bars to 26 (heappppps better)
cut the seat tube down to about an inch.
slammed the seat
pissed off the breaks (will cut mounts soon, never want brakes again)
painted my rims purple =D
cut off flanges

in the process i took off my chain and ended up losing the pin to put back in the chain. i want a shadow half link anyway so should hook up one today from strictly.

future mods:
KHE tyres
plegs and animal lights (two sets, plegs for part animals for street)
animal edwin grips
would like to try a freecoaster somewhere down the line but not going to shell out the big bucks anytime soon.

Now for the good stuff:

Thanks man! yeah i wanted a anodized purple sprocket, i'll get one a bit later as right now i have the stock colony 28T and i would like to do down to a 25T but i think i'll have to change the cog from a 10T to a 9T as well (not that thats a problem but yeah i'll just have to change it). I'll get one when i get my new tyres... i really really want new tyres.

howd u paint ur wheels wat products? im in the process of deciding how to paint mine

I took pictures while doing it man, so i'll hook up like a half assed 'how-to' tonight and show you what products i used. It was pretty easy man, the only stuff i've ever spraypainted before are walls... (my own of course :p) so i don't have a huge knowledge or background in painting and i seemed to do a pretty good job.

The only thing is that the paint chips kinda easy... but i suppose what do you expect. but everything chips on bmx's...they're supposed to be thrashed =D

That looks awesome, Jaso!

Haha man i just brought that stem! not cheap =( but yeah i'm feeling the white/purple now. once it gets completely thrashed and looks ratty (hopefully that wont be for like 6months or so but who knows) then i'll do a complete matt back sprayyy.

By then though i might end up with a new frame or something.. im eying off this one at the moment - Sunday Ian Schwartz sig frame:

JasO is that White Kinght Lilac paint? If so, I've painted rims with the same colour.

All I did, for it to come up sweet, was quick wet n dry rub down on the rim with 1200 grit, just to get any mess off, tape a whole bunch of news paper over the wheel centres and about half the spoke nipple. Spray 1 or 2 coats of grey primer, then 3 or so coats of top colour. haven't polished or re-sanded them yet, but it looks good.

nah it's not white knight, i don't think bunnings whorehouse had purple white knight, so i used some other brand.. i have a pic, i'll hook it up in the morning when i'm back home.

i didn't go into as much effort as you either man! i just gave it the quickest dodgyest sand down (probably less than a minute spent sanding) then taped the bitch up (such an annoying job and taking it all off was even more annoying but i taped every individual spoke..not much fun) and yeah then got the paint out and had some fun. After probably 3-4 coats (with a 4~ day period) i just put on some white knight clear coat and got to riding...

looks alright, flakes easy, but i don't really care, it was just something to do. i'll get the new animal rims and new hubs when i get some cassssh

my stock rear rim is buckled like a bitch =(

will take more pics of the bike tomorrow or whenever i paint up the spots where the tabs and mounts are =D

Colony.

So many parts I would like to upgrade on this bike (frame, stem, hubs, rims, forks, rear tyre), but my skill level just doesnt necessitate it, hence I will probably spend the money on my 4X bike instead.
So once my longnecks come in I will most likely leave it as is, with the exception of some painting today (mint or purple front wheel and stem).

My brakes were annoying me thismorning with their poor adjustment, so I took them off.
Subsequently I slammed my seat and learnt brakeless mowers, so I am now considering it as a permanant move...
I just hate that bandwagon feeling though, I look like every trendy kid down at the skatepark!

What are you gonna do with the ironlak? I would seriously reccomend not using it on a bike unless you enjoy extreme colour fading and different colours coming out of the same can! Especially if its that new formula shit. Otherwise sweet bike!

nice dru Hill! How's the KHE on the front. I get a bit of washout from my dirt on the back, compared to the fly, so i'm skeptical about it on the front. nice tyre though, hey!

Pretty much brand new, like no wear at all. ridden on them about 5 times for about 15-30 minutes each.Pm me if your interested..

Things of change.

New Mosh ED grips. Flanges on, ofcourse.
Creative drawing on my HT.
Tear in my Junior.
Dirt and grime and junk all over my bike which makes it run like a dumptruck full of dogshit that's leaking over the sides onto the pavement for people to walk on and potentially slip-over and hurt themselves, and stinking like faeces.
Kirin stickers over my ST where stupid primer has worn away.
All in all, I need to get my bike into decent shape again.

yupe i sanded lightly, aplied a heavy layer of paint stripper, waited 40 minutes did it again, then once more(all with heavy coats) and after each time i applied the paint stripper i wold remove the paint with a flat blade then after the third coat i sanded it then poished with steal wool. then put on clear coat.

leechie, how are those fit FAF tyres? i just ordered a 2.10 for the back

When I first got them, they were pretty slippery. But after a bit of a ride in they were great! Really grippy now. I guess it was some kind of silica or what ever it is on them when I got them, but wore off pretty quick. Much prefer these over khes. I highly recomend!

whoa looks awesome hubbie! for new wheels, i'd get chrome rims and paint bars and forks black. i reckon raw+chrome would look pretty intense with that frame. But i was never a huge fan of purple though

just go on danscomp callum.

theyv got like every hub,rim and wheel. get whatever you want.

if your buying a complete wheelset off dans, just buy the rims, spokes and hubs then get them built up in aus. dans postage for a complete wheel is $130 each whereas if you just buy all the parts it works out to be around $50.

if your still keen on buying a complete wheel, buy it locally, it works out to be the same price.

I had one flash sitting just in front of me on 1/4 +0.7 power. Camera was at 1/160. f5.6. Nikon D40x, Sigma 10-20. A fair bit of photoshop, yes. Increased exposure, increased temperature, increased blacks, increased contrast, increased clarity..
All done in CameraRAW in photoshop.

as you all can probably see i had some issues putting on a new sprocket but i quickly fixed that:)

i was also just wondering if anyone knew if there was such thing as a good hub thats only got 12 holes for the spokes as im looking at getting new gearing for it but i cant change the rear so any info would be appreciated. i am also in need of a few 12" spokes.
pm me if you think some stuff needs adding.
