At the end of the day its your bike and you can do what you want with it. But post it on a public forum and you've gotta expect a little bit of negative commentary.

I think the frame would real dope if u painted the same design on it and got rid of the stickers. Look more legit.

i wanted to try some different tyres, something that i could still put some psi into and still roll alright but also be a tad more forgiving.
i got a 2.2inch dirt path plyte for the front and a 2.1inch part plyte for the back.

they still roll fair fast but they are a little more forgiving as they have a bit of give in them due to the tread.
they feel real nice, i was jsut going to get two paths but was persuaded to run the dirt front. pretty happy with teh decision.

Well, i just coloured in my chrome rim...with texta, now it's black...pretty ghetto method i know and i'm not sure how well it will wear but until i get some paint it's a quick fix job. It's on its way to being completely black

nah, i'm staying with my current bars for now. if i get bigger bars it will be only for the 8" rise to save my dodgy back.. they'll get cut to like 26"

it just seems like its silly to keep making bars bigger and bigger... i mean, there are going to be a billion 13 year olds running 8.25 x 29" bars soon just because they're the new cool thing.. in my experience, all massively wide bars gives you is sore wrists from putting them in a stupid position.. seriously 75% of the people i see riding with 28" bars are riding with their hands on the flanges anyway. then there's 15% who are running their hands out wide but look stupid and complain about sore wrists, and 10% who are running their hands out wide, but only because they have ape-arms or are 7 foot tall.

I've run 28" on my MTB for so long it just feels so dialled, i'd be running it even if the scene said short bars are the shit. The only reason i'd be cutting them would be for ease of barries, but they piss me off and cant do them anyway so it's ok!

I admit, the grand slams are a stupid marketing scheme, and it's going to look hella funny seeing like 100000 12 year old kids with bars the size of their armspan.

there are already enough kids running 28inch wide bars as it is that really dont need to. they look like they're hugging a big tree or something. theres nothing wrong with using your dads angle grinder ;)

as much as i hate kids talking about running big bars but see them up against the flanges, when i bought my slams, i had the utmost intention of cutting them there and then to 26", before i'd even ridden them, but i got on my bike outside the shop, my hands fell to the very outside, and i knew that 28" bars suited me and didn't want to cut them down. now i'm not huge. I'm probably 6ft, but i would seriously run 30" bars if i didn't want to eventually learn barries. I will learn to barrie with 28's and make the sacrifice, because i love the feeling of them at full width. I can still x-up them on flat, and pretty much every time in the air.

I would seriously i hold them on the outer grip flange 99% if not rounded up to 100% of the time, that's how tuffxcore i am. last time i moved my hands in to make something easier was a rolling x-up. i've moved my hands in a bit to see if flatties are any easier, but my hands always move back out cos it's no easier. never had problems with my wrists either, and seeing your bars are always laid back from vertical if set up correctly, i believe higher bars have been far beneficial to my back's heath.

hahah amen! my mtb is so nice, barely scratched. whenever we take the mtbs in the back of my ute i always put them in really carefully so as not to scratch or dint them, with the bmxes i just throw them in, i've had it like a month and already scratched the absolute shit out of it.

haha yeah, as i said i just used old paints. i ran out of charcoal after doing the frame (actually before i finished the frame - there is a patch of exposed primer under the left chainstay hahaha oops :o ) so the choice was white or red for the front end. i prefer the red, it looks a bit poxy but you don't see red bikes round that often anymore..

My Fly Racing bars went back on. they are cut to the perfect width and feel real nice. 1/4 inch higher than the chrome slams as well. i like the black over chrome at the moment
