View Full Version : Track in progress @ Barjarg, Vic.

A while back I told a few people about a new track thats planned for Barjarg. For those that already know Barjarg the new track will be going down the opposite side of the hill as the current tracks. Its way more rocky than the side of the mountain that the current tracks are on and it also has a much smoother and shorter access road too.
This new track will have heaps more rock gardens than the current tracks. It has heaps of drops, rock wall rides, and steep rocky chutes.. Once done this track is going to be great fun!
I took some pics of where the track will be going and thought I would show them to you all so you get some ideas about whats coming up next for Barjarg.
If your hate riding in rocks then this track might not be your cup of tea.

which side is this? the northern end towards benalla or the blue range western boundry side? your right about the damn rocky part... any more build days later in the year?

It goes North towards Benalla. There might be more build days up there over this summer.
On another note, we should be anouncing some dates for the next ride weekend up at Barjarg very soon!
Sick sick sick! Give us a call when you're going up to dig!

Thats one of many plans... It all takes time and money. Its not at the top of the prioty list right now. But it is on there.

If the new tracks is anything like the one i rode last year (miserably i know) but the track itself was wicked and quite challenging in the section.
I'd be keen to come down again for such event. Good job!

The new track will be silmalar style to the race track that you rode. Although its going to be more technical to ride and with heaps more rocks.
If your keen to come back down again we are having a race on Feb 17/18th. Its the weekend before Mount Beauty so there is enough time for all the interstaters to put in for the week off work and come to both races. This race will be round 5 of the Victorian State Series. The race will be on the Original race track that we used last race. We will fix one or two sections up a bit but basically it will remain the same. Why change the track that Bryn Atkinson called "the raddest race track in Aus".
So, start planning a road trip and ill see you there!

and i thought the other 2 tracks were rocky!!! that'll be a sick track. will it be as long as the other tracks? great view too!!

It will be around the same length as the other two tracks. You thought the current tracks were rocky... Wait till you see the rocks on the side of the hill this track goes down. It makes the current rock gardens look tiny.

Well done guys, your doing a terrific job.
When this ride day's on, will it be anounced a month prior to the day or so? Just so people can organise to attend and stuff [time off work etc].
Plus how much will it cost to ride on the day to?
