So, I'm in the midst of a conversion... I had a columbus bianchi frame lined up, but I found a crack in it. Fortunately I found an old Colnago in a garage sale on the weekend so it's back on.
I need a fixed wheelset, and price is my biggest factor.
So far I've found stuff all track parts on the usual ebay/trading post searches... is there anywhere specific that the track guys sell their stuff?

There are many others that I can't think of right now...
Oh, and Velocity make a good fixed wheelset locally for about $400 I think...

Track wheels are relatively cheap. I'm having a new set built at the moment for my Peugeot with Dura-Ace hubs and Velocity Deep V rims for around $600.
The new Velocity wheelset is quite good, $400 for Deep V's laced to velocity hubs.
But if you're after classic wheels go to www.fyxomatosis.com

And what size was your Bianchi, and was it Celeste Green?

Bianchi is a 58/56cm, original but shitty celeste green paint, cracked under the headtube and drive side dropout (how the hell does that hapen to a steel road bike?). Columbus steel, I'm unsure of the actual model.
I'l probably get it gripped or sell it, but a 54cm is a more practical size for me anyway.

hahaha. I'd been on the lookout for old roadies, drove past a garage sale in Mosman on the way to work...
"Oh that's dad's old thing, he never rides it. Err $40."
Score!
