Santacruz Steel? Xc Hardtail?

Was just going through some of my photos from the 2006 Worlds when I saw this

It looks like is Aussie Rider is riding a (steel?) SantaCruz XC Hardtail, it definatly looks nothing like a Chameleon.

Can anyone coment on this?

with a photo of him from Cycling News (http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2006/aug06/mtbworlds06/?id=/photos/2006/aug06/mtbworlds06/mtbworlds0614/DSC_1967). Google doesn't seem to dig up much about the bike but given he's a santa cruz factory rider, wouldn't be surprised if it's a one off or limited jobbie ala Niki Gudex's intense hardtail....
