Pffft, why would you go the Demo? If you're talking the Demo 8 I, that has a shitty spec list and if you're talking the Demo 8 II, well it has the same standard spec list as the glory, but is about $2000 more expensive RRP.

What the hell are you paying 2 grand extra for?? Plus, the Demo comes with too much Specialized generic crap like the hubs, tires, etc. which I don't like.

So unless I'm just grossely misinformed on the RRPs, why would you even compare the two? They are completely different in price (with the same spec).

I would definetely go the 07 Glory. Better frame, better hubs, better tires, better shifter (x0) and 2 grand cheaper.....

yeh as much as i love demo's i'm guessing you want it for racing seeing as its in the downhill section so i would have to say glory, awsome spec at an awsome price!

Both are great bikes, but if I had to go with one or the other, I would get the Glory. The Glory will take square hits, corner, and pedal really well.

i've had my 07 glory for a 2months now and i'm loving it big time.
corners really good.though i'm coming from a large dh comp too(read really long bike) .so i noticed how awesome mine corners now.plus its so predictable too.

mines stock for now.but its going to be a hard and expensive task upgrading it.for stocko its an awesome price.just look at the gear on it.

xo is worth it weight in gold too.i'm coming from x7 which i thought was pretty decent.but xo is worlds ahead.

as u can see i'm loving mine big time.never even thought of a demo either.just not the best race bike in my mind.

BIG-AL AND LUCCO, you guys should take some pointers from these guys in writing up a post on your thoughts about different bikes.

*Demo 8/9 may be a good bike, so give a real reason why you think its better, real feed back,

looks dont really count!

Guys Guys Guys. The demo does have a higher spec. It has a lower BB. They also weigh in stock at only 18kg which is hard to beat for a strock bike. Which is why i have one and love it... BEST DH BIKE IVE HAD. But at the end of the day they are both good bike and eather with be a good compaion.

Wouldnt that mean that demos are better:p

Demos are amazing to ride. They handel the really hard and rough stuff wickidly. They cornor with ease and pedal very well. They are still rather light with a mad rig.
DEMO 8 II

DEMO 8 II

and $2000 more.

In the end you buy a bike for the frame. By the end of the Year you will have broken / updated half the componets. So buy the bike for the frame. If it "feels" right then buy it.

The demo does have a higher spec.
Please enlighten me. The Demo 8 II has Specialized hubs and only an x9 shifter. The Glory has Sun Ringle hubs and an x0 shifter. The rest is much the same, with raceface components on the Glory and Truvativ on the Demo. Can you tell me where the better parts are on the Demo? I'm open to be proved wrong. Back up your statement with some facts mate!

The demo8 has a lower BB height, shorter chainstays, and likely a longer wheelbase and front centre. All this makes for a better race bike, with better race geo.

I'd be interested in seeing a frame+shock weight for the glory too, I wouldn't be surprised if the demo8 was lighter - at the least they will be pretty similar in that regard IMO
emcgough - ringle hubs are junk (bearings die quickly, and rear freehub mechanism is hopeless), i'd sooner run the speshy ones.

Specs aside, I know what frame i'd rather thrash down a hill.

Go a Glory. Great value.

Corners well, pedals well, feels great overall. What more could you want.

Look how well Rando is doing on one.;)

I rode an 07 Glory today.
Havent ridden a demo, but the glory was just awesome, $5500 with 40RC2's and XO, an E-13, and a DHX...ummmm...5 is it?
Anyway, I cant compare the two, but the glory was tops

Alright fair enough... I don't like the speshy hubs, I've had issues when I ran one before so I suppose that's a biased opinion in that respect.
