I was wondering if any new downhill trails are being created around victoria?
i think it is about time there were some new trails created, or at least change up the old tracks by putting new sections in. The trails are all fun, but i think its about time for some variety. The state series has raced mostly the same places for many years, isnt it time for some change??

check out Barjarg, quite new with new trails being added all the time.
also yacandandah (sp) which is almost ready i think and looks awsome and is also in the new state series...
Long Gully is also developing really quickly with heaps of sweet trails.
You-yangs is also getting a new dh trail completed.
so if I were you ask around the clubs and find out when the working bees are and help them build new trails!!
failing that you could buy some hilly country up in the mountains and build your own...

considering last years state series was the first organised series in years i have no idea what your on about. and by that your realy only suggesting granton, as arrarat has only been raced once, eildon has only been raced once in in the 05 nats due to permit issues, long gully is a new track that hasnt been raced, yakandandah is brand new, barjarg hasnt been ridden much at all and new tracks are being created there anyway, buller isnt going to change, you yangs will eventualy have a new dh track but these things take time, and for those of us orgainseing these events its very hard to have new tracks every year with liability issues, access issues, and the fect that we all cant take every weekend out of our lives to build new tracks. This had allread been discussed in another thread anyway.
We already have serveral locations were looking at for new tracks for NEXT year, granton will actualy have a new bottom section for the race if we get out way as it is in new of revegetation.
If you realy want to help out with new tracks being built, come along to club meetings and then youl find out is not all stright forward and building a track can take along time. Your help would be much appreceated when it comes to building, i suggest you just keep an eye out on here for any build days, i know youies will behavning more as well as bairnsdale, and we are currently looking into 2 properties for potential dh tracks that wed be glad to have you come help work on. Consult the FTF website reguarly youl see them pop up there and here.
Its incredibly hard to put on an organised state series, if you wanted all new and changed tracks thered be bugger all rounds.
just an insight so you know stuff is happening.
and on the note of eildon probably not, we may do but at that time it will be very busy, not alot needs to be done as the track is in great shape as it is, the jump lips need to be repacked but not much else.
