i'd say the ironhorse as it is both DH and FR specific so u can take it of some drops or go and race with it!
well i might be a bit biest cos i have the ironhorse..but its a really sweet ride so yeah id get that

I also just bought the iron horse type R. Was looking at the norco as well but chose the yakuza because the frame slopes down more and the geometry was more like my old bike. I've been happy with it, but I'm sure the Norco would be good too.

i would do the iron horse considering the aline is a free ride bike and also the stand over height is very high

what do you think the yakuza is?

they are both freeride/dh bikes but the aline is the better bike out of the two, ive ridden my mates aline and its sweet, but the park edition is even better

yes but the high stand over height isnt ideal for dh
and my friend has 1 and the rear shok feels like crap

One of the biggest loads of shit I have ever read. You think the A-Line cant do the same? I won a race on my A-line the other week in U17, 8 seconds behind the winner of elite, it can be raced.

oh my mate has the type r and it is freakin awesome so if i was to go it out of those two i would definatly go the type r:p

How did the Aline compare? I mean, you have ridden one right? You got some more convincing points that "Its freakin awesome"?

i would do the iron horse considering the aline is a free ride bike and also the stand over height is very high

On the Ironhorse website isnt the Yakuza in the freeride section? The Aline is in the DH/FR section. Do you think it matters? Standover height, very high? Bullshit. Shut up.

yes but the high stand over height isnt ideal for dh
and my friend has 1 and the rear shok feels like crap

Maybe your friends shock isnt tuned to your liking???

Both bikes are very capable. Id suggest riding both and seeing what you like the most. Wouldnt ask for advice on 'what bike?' on the internet either, ive just demonstrated that half of the responses so far are utter bullshit. Have fun on whatever you get!

The A-Line would have to be one of the best value for money DH machines out there. It has the same frame as the 2006 norco Team DH. Meaning it can take everything you through at it and even do freeride. What DH bike can't freeride??
IronHorse would be any where near the A-Line for Spec & price and looks tones better as well.

Park edition all the way.

i definately agree with all of Supermans points, i have just purchased an A-Line and in no way am looking back. feels quite plush till you get it set up right, but from then, its a dream

ETC ETC ETC

I'm totally with you. I don't think half these farkers know what theyre talking about.
I personally think the A-line would be the go just for the value for money.

A line for sure ive got an 05' A line set up for me and it blows my mind away with the shit it lets me get away with and considering to get an yakuza into the same ball park as an A line would cost a lot more than the total cost of an actual A line the norco is great value

A line all the way

i would go the aline just for the fact that the yakazu is a low grade of bike in the iron horse line up, and the aline is like norcos second or third best bike in their line up

norco aline looks alot tougher than the ironhorse !!!!

The guy was asking about the Aline Park Edition. Your friend has one of these? It is an 07 model and has not shipped here yet.

The Aline Park Edition is a DH race bike, and you can FR on it. Hell, I can FR on my daughters' bikes!

It will come with Juicy 7's in Oz.
Marz Roco TST at the rear. Nate, I doubt this is the shock you are calling CRAP.

Remember, the thread was about Aline Park Edition v's.....whatever.

$3,999 - show me better value. The bike LOOKS absolutely stunning in the flesh, I can assure you, nothing else will look as good.

Now if you're really serious, Team DH.....ooooerr. (New frame, bike approx 18.5kg's out box, even before you tamper with her;) )Who said Norc's were lard-asses?

also, what Superman said......

Norco have their own Shore breed, called the Shore range. Norco have a Downhill range too, the A-Line is part of it. There is a blindingly obvious difference between the 2.

You said get a Sunday, and changed your mind within seconds to saying get the Yakuza, that would be enough to make me ignore your post if I asked the question. Is the Norco not a solid design? I have heard of the ol snap happening to Yakuzas but not Alines. Calling the Yakuza an entry level bike is not a problem, but it does undermine its capabilities.

obviously i ment that if u can get your hands on an extra 500 go the sunday but if not get the yakuza, and peronally i have not heard of any yakuza's snapping, but i have heard of some promblems with rear hubs in all the norco bikes, ppft by entry level i mean an entry level downhill bike as iron horse downhill flagship range is the sundays so before u start attacking by post think twice, iron horse will always have better downhill bikes sam hill cant be wrong

Gotta say I had a problem with the hub on the back of my Norco, but that was easy fixed, just had the hub oiled up on the insides, havent had a problem since. The hub companies sometimes pack too much grease in the hubs and they cant spin properly.

Why do you think that? I don't think it would matter what bike sam Hill rode, he'd still be ripping at the top of the time sheets.
I'd love to as you in a few years who make the better bikes.
