I'm heading to Queenstown in February for a work conference and I'm planning to do some riding the weekend before and after the conference. I'm looking for some tips on riding around Queenstown.
I was already planning to hit up the FR park, do a heli tour with these guys http://www.fat-tyre.co.nz/ride.htm and if I've got enough time make it out to Dirt Park http://www.dirtparknz.com/ *Update: Dirtpark is out. Its only open till Jan 21.* Is there anything else I should look into? I'm a bit of hack, and not into hucking at all, so hardcore north shore and slopestyle is out.
I was also planning to take my own bike: either an all mountain Morewood Shova ST http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=60592 or a DH Avanti D8 http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=67963. I'm leaning towards the Morewood as its more versatile, can climb and would be easier to transport. Any reason why I should take the D8 instead?
