So, close! It might be worth taking to those dropouts with a file.

Nice bike! Thats the most weight weenied bike I've ever seen on farkin (first step to treatment is admitting you have a problem.... =D ).

How much travel do those Pace forks have?

The Pace forks are 100mm.

I don't think I've got the e-sarcasm down either. Not sure whether he's saying it's so close I should file, or it's so far off it needs filing. Either way, I haven't been able to make it jump off yet, haven't given it a good workout though. The teeth on the surly ring and cog are pretty high so hopefully they do the job of holding it on. File to the dropouts? I reckon the better option would be to get rid of the carbon frame and buy a nice steel single speed frame. Decisions, decisions. With no gears I can deal with extra frame weight.

In regard to the weight weenie thing, I was tempted with a fair bit more - I've got a spare SLR saddle, flat carbon bars, I nearly even wentwith some Pace carbon rigids. All that would have had it around 7.5-7.6kg

And yes, I've reallised it was a bit excessive, in fact, I'm loving the risers so much so that they may make themselves at home permanently along with trigger shifters instead of gripshift in the geared setup. And then a dually frame and reba's, no longer a weight weenie job then.

Hmmm, I laughed way to much at that. So much fiddling spent with cogs/rings/chains, frustration needed to be expelled.

The fork? Not convinced yet, but haven't ridden it much. Stiffer than a SID with similar stanchion size. Initially dives through the travel but is now stiffening up after some break in time, we'll see what it gets to. Lockout lever is retarded, shape and mount design really doesn't work well with gripshift. Real weight was 50 grams less than a SID World Cup once the remote lockout lever is factored in so that's a plus in my book.
