some mates and i are going out to the you yangs tomora if anyone has decided to go we could use the hints on riding dh, we are new to this but are really keen hope to see some one out there

Im thinking of going up, but im kinda new myself, if I wasn't I would be going to long gully. Ive ridden Travs Diamond a few times but I was thinking of having a closer look at the DH track, I don't know how much of it you can ride as some of the bigger stuff has gates accross it. Im ridding an iDrive 5, which is another reason Im not going to long gully. I need a A-Line I just have to convince the missus..... Ive already bought 2 bikes this year and can't be too far from being single now....On the upside I would have 3 MTB's.. Anyway im raving again I hope to see ya's up there:)

You can ride the entire You Yangs DH track on an I-drive no problems using the B-lines around the gates, you just cannot bash down it like you could on a DH bike.

i went with tom (norcomtb) yesterday. It was a great day, the weather was better then expected. A couple runs down track 8 and i was about done (hit a tree on the second run:p ). All round was a great first trip to the you yangs.

yesterday we went to the you yangs it was alot of stuffing around like it always is when u first go somewhere, but eventually we got out there i was so exited so were my mates as soon as i got to the run we went straight up keen as hell to do em, so first run i went first and just cruised to see how id go and loved it second run scraped my lowers on a nice rock (shattered) but went on we forgot to take tubes and zac got a flat but we kept riding too good to stop although its alot of work going back to the top i must say we were there for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours and i got 4 runs hopfully i can go in the comp after next one and be competative. i havent been to anyother tracks cause i just started but im doing ok hopfully il beable to get around a bit more now. oh yer and stone67 i didnt see you there did you go out??

Yeah but I went super early, I just done 4 runs of Trav's Diamond and I tried a bit of the downhill track. I think Trav's really suits the i-drive each run is more fun than the last. Im gonna save the downhill for my new bike, if I ever get it. Anyway I was back on the road by about 11;00, I live out at Cranbourne so I like to get an early start

oh fair enough then i was out there at about 10 1030 or sumthing you might have seen me we were at the bottom of the runs my old man was sitting with an esky i dunno but i ride a norco atomic 05 model with the drop of triples the shit ones and it goes pretty good down number eight i dunno whats its called when i rode travs diamond i found you had to pedal alot and if your not in the right gear when you get to the uphill bit your screwed but its not a bad run

Nah I didn't see ya's, but that sounds like another vote for a Norco. Not that I need anymore convincing. Theres a bloke on here selling an A-line, Just waiting on trading access Oh yeah and some more credit:eek: .
Anyway Im sure I'll see ya's up there, Im trying to get up there once or twice a month

yeah we should talk and like meet up or sumthing its just my mates and me haveto get lifts cause we cant drive but yeah i want to get up there once more this month cause i wont beable to ride at all in december so hopfully i can work something out ive posted my ride now i dunno if i did it right but its near the top of the page in the ride post page have you posted urs??
