Hot damn those Yeti frames are sexy.

A 303 is high on my list of things to buy to hang on my wall (and maybe ride a little).

Cheers

Theres something about the 303 that just radiates perfection. The best ideas are always the simplest. I love yetis minimalist approach to geometry design.

Simple...!? Minimalist...!?
Look at the freaking suspension linkage!

yup, 2 pivots

yup, 2 pivots

Plus two rails plus two bearing slider things plus another 3 pivots for the stiffening links at the back, plus the two stiffening links themselves... yeah VERY minimalist...

Looks good though, well minus the fork.

DJ_Robbie
30-11-2006, 10:05 PM
.....and 2 rails, an infinate amount more than any other bike out there... definantly minimalistic...

oh, and "pivot; the shaft at which a mechanism oscilates around"

i coount far more points than 2 where a mechanism rotates around, i think i counted 8 last time i checked.

Its a sick bike but its far from minimalist.

Last time I checked geometry wasn't suspension... It helps to read properly to save ones self looking like a fool! :D

Nice bike BTW, They ride very sweet!

It all depends on how you look at it.
It's very easy to be in awe when you try and work out what is going on.
Looking at the bike, to me it looks solid, compact, and very simple.
The rails are fixed...the rail cars are essentially part of each main pivot, and the stiffening link doesnt complicate the way the suspension works, but merely comes along for the ride whilst providing lateral stiffness.
Yes it was mind bending at first, but now i reckon to me it seems more simple than a lot of other designs...

anyhoo....enjoy

He needs something stronger, apparently marzocchi are bringing out a new fork called the WATKINS it comes with 300mm travel and 50mm stauntions.

Oh yeah, cos he didn't say "the best ideas are always the simplest", and geometry really has the facility to be "minimalist"... cos you know, some bikes don't HAVE a head angle, or a chainstay length... it keeps weight down!
