Hey, the most stupid thing happened to me yesterday whil doing a run at Keira. I had no shuttle, just on own and decided to push all the way back up! Stupid enough on its own haha if you've seen the track! Let alone in full kit and it was hot!
I had a pair of shorts on that were too loose, but when ur sitting down it doesn't really factor, but because I had to walk it back up they kept sliding down.
This was really pissing me off so I ripped em off and stuck 'em on my saddle, picture me exhausted so wasn't really paying much attention to where they were. Suffice to say when I got to the top and onto a fire trail I noticed my shorts had fallen off back down the fucking hill and there was NO WAY RAY i was going back to get the $10 fuckers! So as I start to ride off with no pants, a couple come up the trail and just stare at me hahah. Then every car that drove by honked etc...I must have looked soooo suss!
If you find a set of Green 3/4 cargo shorts PM me, or better still, hang em up on a tree as a reminder for next time!!!
For I am Sutek...lord of the idiots
Ummm.... errr....
I hope you had underwear of sorts?
this is about the only time I'm NOT going to ask for pics ;)

Haha dude's...Hey Brett...the P3!! whats happening mate?
I'll call you next time I go up Keira if you like. I hadn't done that track before so had no idea where I was going or how fucking long it was coming back up!!
I had the Shuttle suit on, so sort of pants I guess--looked like roadie lycra and string!

Hey Dickynee, do we let on or what? teehee...
Give me a bit of a break. I only bought my house down there 6 months ago(previously from Cronulla). And i haven't been able to DH for over 14 months now.............reason why i ask if it's rough.
I have heard of the Uni track, just have no idea where it is. I saw a guy getting dropped off at the top of Mt Ously(how do you spell that ?) the other day in full kit. Is this the track ? or do you know of it ?

Gutty, I wasn't having a go at you mate...last time I mentioned to people about certain tracks, Dickyknee hassled me light-heartedly, so it's more of a joke between us two. No offense mate!
2fast is right on..if you park (better to get dropped off) at the hairpin, which is on your right as you go up, you go in thru the gate which leads to a long fire road. you go over a big water bar then scoot down real quick and enjoy the blur. This is actually straight single track so is not rough. You have to know what to look for but there is an opening on the right hs which will take you onto the DH track (uni track) down to...the uni DUH! This track is pretty rough in spots but lots of fun. Do not expect too many built stunts but the track itself is a shit load of fun.
To be honest it was the first time I have bothered to do it, being an oldie and not into pure DH but I loved it. Cant wait to go again, it will ob get better as you learn the lines.
PM us one day if your going and maybe we can meet you up there to show you in...You have a trailer ??teehee
Gutty
11-12-2003, 10:37 AM
Trailer ?? nah but i have my choice between a hiace and a hilux........... :D
I doubt i'll bother riding it. If it was smooth as a babies bum single track i would, but the sad fact is my wrist can't take the constant jolting/jarring of DH anymore.......tends to dislocate.
And i spoke to Jordo about it yesterday on MSN, he reckons it's a bit rough so.........i'm in no hurry to check it out.
0415 395 848 feel free to give me a call over christmas(no internet at home) if you guys feel like doing some shuttles, i might be up for a run or 2 and some beers. I've been told i make a good shuttle truck driver..........being that i don't ride and all........

i dont know anything about this light hearted hassling with sutek  , i reckon he was just picking on you mate :D :D
so do you do any riding at all , like cross country stuff or is the wrist had it ???
what kind of cichlids to you keep ( i work in aquarium for 5 years ).
have some reflectors to sell if you keen.

Hahahaha.......hassle all you want guys. I know it's just fun. And don't really give a shit if it's not......
Just sold my DH bike, and my hardtail currently wears slicks. I hit up the bike path along the beach front occasionally. And i still ride my moto, just no more jumping. I used to get into XC a bit but it kinda bores me, plus i'm way outta shape at the moment so uphills are simply gay IMO.......
Cichlids.......i keep mostly Malawi Haps and Peacocks. Quite a few Aulonocaras, some E.yellows, dimi compressiceps, Venustus etc in a 6'x18"x18" display tank. A 4fter with a breeding colony of Aulonocara stuartgranti "Chiwindi".
I also have a tank full of Copadichromis borleyi fry, a few Alto calvus and comps. And a 2fter with 6 Neolamprologus multifasciatus.
Yes, i've gotten into my fish a bit since not being able to ride. They really help me chill out and relax some times.
What size reflectors ? I'm pretty much right but i can ask around if you want. What shop did you work in ?
My old 4x2x2, don't have any pics of my current tanks.

hahahahahah. like fish fingers except with scales instead of crumbs, its the healty alternative! i love my fish! i just gotta look after him better. look in my profile for him. hes getting big now, and parents wont let me buy a bigger tank for him, so its a 4 footer for the poor fella. but on topic i would of laughed my ass off if i had of seen that. btw we never shuttle in townsville, except castle hill (but thats illegal). pushing up is good for your soul and good for your heart (thats what we keep telling ourselves). plus gives you time to have a chat. stupid council not letting us use cars on the access road. grrrrrr.

Just one redback ?? Come see me if you ever want any more. I killed about 30 around my house the other week. Little tirants are everywhere.............
How smelly do you find your snakes ? I was thinking of emptying a 4ft tank and getting a snake or a lizard but i've been told they can get quite stinky.

Nope...only if you don't clean them for a month...
But, you do realise you need a licence, and fishtanks are hopeless for keeping reptiles...

Yeah, i know about the licence. Not too hard to get.
Well, that was my next question, i assume a proper herp enclosure would be much better then. Whats your opinion on heating ? Pads, lights, rocks etc ??
Really only a bit of dream for now though..............

You serious? Fuck me, I'd be selling the house if I had that many potentially lethal spiders crawling round.

Lethal ?? bahahahahahahahaha Don't be so silly. I've been bitten, wasn't that bad. Maybe if you repeatedly jabbed yourself in the jugular it might knock you off. Or if your under 5 years of age.
I got pretty sick for 6-10 hours, i'm talking violently sick, and the bite got very hot and tender to touch.
Now who'd like to guess where i got bitten ? I was on the dunny here at work at the time
Lots of info here http://www.austmus.gov.au/factsheets/redback.htm
Now if they were funnel webs.......that'd be different..............

As Gutty said, they're definitely not lethal, but hurt like a bitch.
Gutty - personally, I use white melamine enclosures with glass sliding doors (size depends on snake), with a Infra-red bulb, thermostatically controlled over the top of a rock...
I thought redbacks could be lethal if not treated with an antivenom...?
Could be...
could
if they bit you somewhere sensitive I guess.
Alright alright, well still they make you sick :P
Bad enough for me :)

Got a dog Socket? You'd better go shoot the bastard...
How about a can of baked beans? Quick, whack it over the head with a shovel before it tried to attack your whole family...

I hate spiders with a vengeance. They freak me out, so I lash out at them when I can.
hahah, you would've loved my antics this evening, walk out the back door to have a spiderweb in my face and the bugger about to crawl on to my forehead, I swung and sent him flying from the 2nd story down to the driveway. Thwack, splat.

baked beans was my life line during schoolies, as for spiders and snakes, i'm sure they are as scared of you as you are of them!

Its dead now, but it was alive when i caught it.
Its currently decomposing in a jar on my BBQ.
i was pretty pleased considering i'm arachnophobic.

If you really wanna help out, and get rid of funnel webs, catch it in a bottle and take it to Gosford Reptile Park where they will milk it for it's venom and use to make an anti-venene...you could save someones life.

Do hospitals still accept funnel webs ?? I'm pretty sure my local hospital did/does.

You seem to know a bit about spiders, what are the ones that are bright blueish called? I blew one away (with a 12 gauge, no kidding - talk about satisfaction) a while ago cos I almost walked into it at face height (its web was between two trees). Iirc, it was a little bigger than your average Huntsman or funnelweb, but the body was light blue and the legs *might* have been yellow... it seemed much thinner and ganglier than your average huntsman etc too.

I don't know much about spiders...reptiles is my specialty.
Sounds like a harmless old garden spider to me. I'm sure there's some Latin name for it, but generally, big webs + big spider = harmless.
