thredbo first weekend

hey all
planning my first trip to thredbo:D just after some advice from those in the know, is the first weekend a good time to go down or is a better time to go qafter a couple of weeks so the team down there can get in the groove. as for the track what are comditions like first weekend.
any advice appreciated...

Well the later you got down the more groomed in the track gets..and if you go down right at the start then it will be a freshly groomed track up there after they have just done alot of work to it..

At the moment the track is under 6" of snow so you might want to bring your snowboard:D

yeah whats with the weather atm? its nearly summer and its like an ice age down here!!!

The weather has been gnarly the last couple of days. Yesterday it snowed pretty much all day and today was -5 with some pretty good flurries. All in all it's made for two days of bugger all track work but the rain/snow will go a long way to helping pack down the new berms we've bilt near Kureela Hutte and down in the rapids. Next week is supposed to be sunny and warm so that should dry the track out and make it sweet for opening weekend. Looking forward to seeing you all down here.:)
