I built this bike when I was bored one Saturday afternoon, It is a hardtail and has 125mm rock shox on the front, It leans back a bit because it has a 24" on the back and a 26" on the front (purely preference) It is lighter to bunnyhop and whip off jumps. Its my only bike and I am getting a 2006 Ironhorse Yakuza Kumicho in about a month.:D

Anyway just thought that I would post a picture up and see what everyone thinks, Please bear in mind that I am no bike builder.
Have a look and tell me what you think, I need answers so that I can think about my next hardtail.

thanks guys and appreciate any answers.

thankyou

If by built you mean you put a rear 24" wheel, some odyssey JC pedals and a jump seat. Dude I strongly recommend you dont jump this bike. the geometry is whack due to that 24" wheel and the frame size. It was designed as a budget XC trail bike, it has Budget XC parts on it and I can pretty much guarantee your forks will bend/snap, loose your chain due to the triple rings or basicaly crash it due to it being unjumpable. By all means it's a good attempt but it is in no way safe.

I agree that is seriously wack with 24" rear and a 26" front. i suggest that you don't try and build a DJ bike unless you know whats needed for one.
for example
- short stem
-low travel forks (pikes at 95:D)
-single speed is awesome (bashy to prtoct your sprocket)
-at least one working brake (preferably rear):D

pics a tad dodge.

u should really get a chain as well next on the list should be rear brake, or just get a longer cable for the front and use that as a rear?

Firstly I reccomend decent pictures, this can be done by hosting them eg imagshack or using the file manager at the bottom of the page when you post. It is really hard to see the bike properly, perhaps take some pics from the side.

As for the bike get two wheels the same size, and also parts like that will not last long if you jump them.

Dude I'm not baging you for your bike. Hell no. I think you have the right idea. I just dont think you are going about it in the right way. I'm just thinking about it from a safety point of view. Dirt jumping is pretty rough on your bike and you need to know if your parts are going to hold up, And I can tell you yours arent. The last thing you want is for your forks to fold underneath you and get an eye full of gravel.

Maybe some decent forks, a short stem, a bash guard/chaindevice and a matching set of wheels you could be a little more confident in knowing your shit wont break. You don't need the best equipment. There are heaps of cheap dirt jumping components on the forums.

Just know that you are putting your self at risk more than anyone else if you decide to jump your bike. be sensible bro.

I will do what I like and I will jump it if I like Its not the bike its the rider,

Ok dude, not getting high and mighty or anything, but I've been jumping for years now and I still have moments where if i didn't have reliable equipment on my bike i would have been seriously hurt. for example I once nose cased a 15 or so foot double and I bent my frame severely but I managed to hold it an ride out. Albeit with a shagged frame. If it were any other fork than a DJ/Fr specific fork they definately would have snapped and I would have been in a lot of trouble/ Face plant. Get it, I'm sure even someone like Darren Pokoj could tell you the same thing.

if you werent prepared for people to rate your bike, why did you post it up in the first place? no need to get angry at people who are tellin you the truth, and you are the only one to blame for these comments on your bike
you should take these peoples comments seriously because some of these people know a hell of a lot more about these things then you do and probably have a hell of a lot more experience with bikes just like yours
dont be ignorant towards people who know better......it will benefit you down the track

Why spend $3500 on a bike if your not going to race it with us?

If you want to be that lazy, spend your money on a new couch and some good DVDs. And just sit at home and watch people doing what you are to lazy to do...

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat the fark... that bike yogi posted was not cheap, and we can say it is good from the picture, by looking at the spec and the rough geometry of it, it's got nothing to do with judging a book by it's cover? i think you just need to calm down abit and think before you post.

Dude, read the fucking post, damn. I was pointing out to "Skitzo" that not all mongooses are cheap and or shit. the bike I posted was an example of the 07 ritual which has been signifigantly improved over the last 2 years models. It looks like a wicked bike for the price(From what I can gather just over a grand) It has a solid spec and excellent geometry. I know this because i have read the geometry angles and the component list on the mongoose website. You clearly have no clue. the bike I posted is a far superior/ jumping specific bike, unlike yours.

Seriously you are starting to get on some nerves here kid. We're trying to help you out. stop being a freaking know it all and take some advice.

I wanna buy a $50'000 4wd and never take it off the bitumen, never get it dirty and use it to pick up the kids. You my friend have the same outlook on life as your everyday soccer mum.
I think the others were wondering why you wouldnt race a bike such as the ironhorse when it is pretty well spec'd out to be a race bike.
Take a chill pill winston;)
