Almost purchased a bike exactly like yours ( 2002 Gemini 2000 ) back in early 04, till I found out there were some issues with frames cracking due to incorect size tubing used to build some moldels.
Cannondale Aus sent me a frame gauge to measure the down tube......turned out it was a frame that should have been recalled!

If you purchased it new you should be ok.............
Sorry if I freaked you out, but better to know now than to perhaps do damage to yourself latter.
The guage is a definate U shape ie. straight sides with a symetrical curve at the bottom.
If I remember rightly the guage will fit the frame if it's one of those incorrectly manufactured...because the correct tubing is "egg shaped" if you get my drift.

Hot. Hot Hot Hot. I know they've been around for a long time now, but I've never had any time on a Dorado. How would you rate it against say, a Boxxer?
New rear shock, and you'd be totally dialled.
Arh, very nice. I think its pretty much dialled hey.
Mmm, you're giving me ideas for my 04 Cedric Replica. Just out of interest, what headset are you running? Mines a Cane Creek Double XC, and its got a buttload of height to it, too much infact.
Rich.

The dorado feel very nice, i dont have much to compare it too, but in comparision to the 02 super ts and the 05 world cups that were on there before, the doritos win hands down. the dampning feels more progressive and feels bottomless. havent had a full run on a track yet, but from the feel, it will be bloody light and flickable. (can i take on squid?)
In response to the head set question, i had teh same prob as the steerer was very short. i bougght FSA reducer cups that come on a sunday and whacked them in. they are about 3mm high. gets rid of that ugly fuckin top cup, and hence lowers the front end.
atm the front sits lower than the boxxers and 12mm higher than the super ts.
Oh yeah and the dorados look good to boot too! thats the most important..
one last thing, ive looked into a new rear shock but i cant find one that will be non-platformish, as i still want that feel. maybe a swinger 4 way or the new roco? ive heard that dingle pivots lover non platform shocks?

I'd be tempted to suggest either a DHX or Roco, if its suppleness/a responsive ride that you want. Platform shocks, such as the 4-way, don't feel all that grand on the Gemini's. Although, a friends Gemini with a 5th felt pretty good.
