Those chainstays (well whole rear end actually) are either 03 spec, or off one of the SGS-FR bikes. The 04 ones were heaps thicker, didn't have a dropped chainstay, and had the 3-piece shock link (stiffening brace).

So S. are you saying he has a 2003/2004 model bike??

Actually I'm pretty sure it's an SGS-FR frame or at least rear end (all 04 probably). The DH ones (including 03 models) all had 165mm hubs - that one is QR.

Yeah my money is on it being an SGS-FR frame (not that it really matters), though I didn't think they had the 3pc shock link (which I couldn't see from the first pic), however I may well be wrong on that one. The chainstays and seatstays are definitely off an SGS-FR anyway (QR dropouts = 135mm hub spacing, DH models had a 165mm hub with a 12mm thru-axle), and from what I can remember the front triangles looked identical to the DH models (though they didn't have the 100mm BB).
Looks nice though anyway, enjoy it!
Whats with Iron horse's 165mm rear end and 100mm BB's...
Apart from making it hard to find replacement BB;'s and rear hubs does it serve any greater purpose? Im sure its stronger/stiffer to some degree, but neccessary?
Oh, and nice bike mate.:)

It WAS intended to be the new DH standard a few years ago, but it's just kind of unnecessary given that you can get zero dish and proper chainline with a 150mm hub since they introduced the 83mm BB standard in 05 (previously you had to use a 73 or 100 BB with 150 hubs which gave you a shitty chainline). 165mm hubs make rear wheels suuuper stiff though, and being a, um, laterally generous kind of guy, I quite like the wider spacing of the pedals with a 100mm BB. It's not a bad setup as such, just a bit redundant now that we have 83/150.
She's definately a FR, does it say "freeride" on the chainstay? ;)
Nevertheless, still a cool bike and given the frame it has the potential to be very versatile if you wanted to play with parts.
