Not a new frame mate, already got my Suburban and I love it to death. Just a bit of a "transformation" selling alot of the stuff and getting new, one of which is the forks.

Yeah you guess it. 26" wheels are the shit, unless you admire those pommey UK riders. Rims and tyres are in just waiting on spokes, and my forks would be on but I need a crown race *fuck!*

yeah some gold label sets are bad. its just luck of the draw really.
i recently rode my mates bike which has gold labels and there was no feel to them and they made weird noises when you pulled up of something while riding and then came back down they would make a slapping sound.
on the other hand my brothers were fine. no creaking, flexing, and felt excellent. so in conclusion, check the forks are in good working order BEFORE you take them home.

I am pretty confident that my forks will be a good pair, just assuming where I bought them from and that situation.
Yew! Rims are de-stickered and looking stealth, tubes I have hub (waiting on the front) are ready to rock and roll. So I just need that pathetic crown and some spokes and nipples and she'll be rocking.,

If you don't get the crown race back, maybe try SCV Imports. They do FSA and might be able to sort you out with one as a spare. Check with your LBS...
Good luck!
