My LBS called Fox Aust. or whoever distributes Fox in Aus today to order a 600lbs x 2.8 spring for my DHX5 and they have NONE in stock.
Does anyone know of bike shops around Aus that carry a large range of springs that by chance may have some fox ones?. Or other distributers that would have fox springs? I have been told that getting other springs eg. DNM manitou etc that they don't fit (different width and don't sit on collars properly) and I need to get a Fox one, does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks Andrew

sorry about that. It is a regular size that we usually carry too. We do have 650lb available but that may be too hard.
Tha fact that we're currently sold out means that Fox (USA) had none available to ship with our last order. (we currently have an order about to ship, but I'll have to check if Fox have any of the 600x2.8 in stock yet)
There are other springs that will fit however. And I'm sure that the assembled knowedge base here will be along shortly to advise which ones... :)

I think Manitou and Fox are the only ones that will fit.
I waited 4 frigen months for a Fox spring to come in, I probly wouldn't have even rode my bike during that time with how stiff the spring was if it wasn't for having a good enough LBS who said I can have a Manitou spring as long as im waiting. There seem to be quite a few cases of unavailable springs... Why??
Anyways, Fox and Manitou will fit DHX-5.

Just curious about the Fox DHX springs, ive been looking at a new one or a replacement spring or something cause atm ive got a 5th element and im 90Kg, i have a feeling it could be a little too light to handle my weight, the Fox springs are around the $500 mark which is awsome, just curious is anyone around my weight that uses a Fox or 5th element, if so what models are they and what weight of the spring? I dont know alot about Rear Shocks but i do wanna get the right one for my weight and riding style. cheers :D

Oh so you want a whole new shock!
DHX SHIT all over 5th, put it that way. You'll have to get the size shock you need for your bike, and get your LBS to check it fits that type of bike (some bikes have clearence issues with some shocks) and buy the DHX you need, I think they're about 7 - 800 new. Something like that. And since different bikes use different strokes and shock lengths and linkage designs and all that, I dont know what pound spring you'll need but once again your LBS should help you with that.
Or someone smart on here will, I duno start a new thread of your own, and say you want a DHX, ask the size your bike needs, what pound spring you'll need, etc...

Your spot on the money there mate.
These things are determined by many variations - Dirt Works will do the calculations - and you will be issued with the correct hardware

If my shock has a stroke of 2.75 will a 3.25 spring be way to big and not usable?? Anyone who can shed some light.
