ok a question, i know its been asked but hell why not again.
6ft1 95 kgs need something to do when not kiteboarding, average fitness, want to hit some jumps, blast down some hills maybe do a bit of urban biking... what bikes should i look at, what should i avoid. I dont want to go crazy on price (yet) if i love it in a year or so ill upgrade (as i did with kiting, first kit $1000, that was soon replaced with $5k..lol)

cheers

Buy a second hand hardtail off this forum.
get a large framed dirt jumper or an all mountain type frame with not too many lightweight XC parts.
Ride it lots.
Replace parts that you break as you need.
catch the bug.
invest thousands on you dream bike
decide you also need a DH/Freeride rig
Ride it for a while. enjoyable but something is lacking
single speed the old hardtail. bliss
End up with a stable of bikes and ride happily ever after.

seriously though. a $1500 new hardtail from a large reputable brand (Giant, Mongoose, GT, Avanti, etc) will get you a great entry level bike that you can do all you want on for a year or so and after this you would know where you would like to go from there.

since you're 95 kg you should look at a freeride style frame probably... I'm thinking norco sasquatch/manic and such...
