Bike Of The Month [Nov 06] WINNER: Mani2

Alrightey guys, after discussion in this thread http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=69042, it is time to commence the first Farkin Bike of The Month. Rules are pretty simple.

1. Post your favourite user's bike
(include username, bike model. 1 (only) quality image and a link to the thread would be useful too)
2. 1 vote per user
3. Vote can be changed up until closing date (30/11/06) by editing your first post. please do not repost
4. please reduce discussion
5. Bikes posted outside of this month ARE allowed to be voted for
6. You may vote for your own bike

Once all nominations have been made, votes will be counted, and a King will be crowned hopefully by the 5th of December. If there is a tie, a poll will be made to settle it. Failing the poll, a rap battle will commence, failing that, my STP wins.

But also get into the nitti gritty, almost an interview. Why the bike was built to that spec, how does it ride to the previous bike, rider weight and spring setup, rebound setting etc. etc. Get a standard format form together so it is easy to compare each months rides.

sounds like a good plan Plow, but can we keep this to site problems and suggestions, and we'll just run it this way this month and adopt some of your ideas next month. Remembering that it is generally not the owner voting for their own bike so setup details may not be available.

So like at the end of december you could do Dec 06 and vote on the bikes that were posted in that month. You could do one at the end of the year for bike of the year so that every bodys bike could be voted for not just the ones posted in that certain month. Just a idea

1)have to different threads for hardtail and dualie
2)towards the end of the month start the two thread (or the first 10 people to pm you or someone) and the first 10 nominated bikes of each thread get added to a poll.
this will allow all forums users to vote and should keep it fair.while making it easyer to add up and everything else...

thats retarded. no photos or links? how does that make things any easier? we'll all be sifting through endless crap to find the bikes mentioned and everyone will get over the poll before it starts.

i really like the first 10 bikes in idea, works better than bikes per month i reckon, and no winning bike can ever be re-entered, but i reckon losing bikes (outside top 3) can be if they are worthy.
i reckon one pictured post of each of the 10 bikes nominated, and then votes can only be counted if when they follow the format of "i vote for ....'s bike". and then a discussion thread can be opened along side for those who feel the need to get on their knees for their friends.

I also agree on no posting pictures or links. If you want to vote for a bike, do a bit of work and check them all out in Post Your Ride first. If you want to find a bike someone else has voted for or posted, do a search! It will just get rid of the people who vote for the first bike they see because it looks awesome.

Also, one post per user, per thread. If you want to change your vote by the end of the month, edit your first post. This will stop thread clogging, and will make it easier for Hubbie to count at the end of the month.

Another thing - Templates. Something like:
Voting for: (Username)
Bike: (What bike it is)
Reason: (Why are you voting for it?)

Just some sweet suggestions.

can we please keep this to the development thread in site suggestions. theres alot of trash, and people who voted for a HT and a Duallie were discluded (not that it would have changed the winner), as they were not following rules, they were making up their own. that aint how i roll :p

I agree with LTR with templates. i set one down at the beginning of the month, and it's unbeleivable the amount of people that posted rediculous posts i was meant to decode, like voting for a picture, i mean, seriously, i have no idea whose it is!
