your a complete wanker, and obviouslyt havnt been rideing long, or even involved in rideing that much period, or youd know the rangers care alot!
When i go up there, if i see north shore i will be ripping it down.

Get a friggin clue. The rangers DO care very much, and north shore is THE WORST THING you can do for trail access. Like Roxy said, if I see that shit up there I will personally rip it down.

I too will destroy any crap you twits decide to build up there.
Don't be such an idiot, it's hard enough for any of us to ride out there as it is without half wits like you trying to build dodgy Northshore stunts, does nothing but give us riders a very bad reputation. Leave that for your mummas back yard will you please.

i personly will help destroy the north shore aswell!
the ranges do care! it was nice single track there, and im all for the little freeride section at the bottom as it is good to play on, but when these guys and come and build dangerous stuff in an enviroment which is used by walkers, cyclists and horse, there is alot of problems.
the jumps are ok, but when u make a massive hole in the middle that a horse could fall into thats stupid, its getting quite chewed up down there and there is shit loads of litter there at the moment so i will personally kneecap the people when i see whose doing that, and im sure the ranger will 'care' and love 2 hand out a massive fine 2.
so if u wanna ride down there...fine, but if u think the ranger doesnt care what u do, clearly your wrong, and also, all of us riders do care aswell, and believe us were scarier than all the rangers combined as if u become part of the reason why cyclists become banned from the area....watch out.
but anywho, enjoy the nice are, ride safe, and build safe as your not the only users

Please NO north shore leave that for another time and place...
Just ride that tracks and look after them please...
But i have heard a rumor some one has a NS style set up near by some where, lets pray to god its not true...
Do you guys reckon it would be ok if we did some matnaice on the DH track over the holidays??? This would involved armoring, geting rid of some of the crazy bomb holes and a over all clean up... No new construction just some much needed matnaince...
What do you guys think...
Cheers James :)

well i dont see an issue with it, but just dont let the rangers see you with a shovel.....they wont care what you have to say.
Yep i agree NO MORE SHITTY STUNTS, SHORES, CRAP JUMPS AND GAPS. I was at mount d a week or so ago and saw a note posted to a tree by MF SHIFTY I think, Well done, props to you. My brother and I then spent 15mins picking up rubbish. Then a further 30-40mins leveling some crappy stunts. We also laid logs back over the newer tracks and shit gaps. So I to will say if you go up there and build we will pull it down. How about no more building trails up there at all for awhile. Give the area a rest, that way we have a better chance at working somthing with the rangers, so we can ride up there legally, without the tracks being shut down.
Why does'nt some one contact the ranger in charge at the Parks office up there he is the one that will make the decisions on what happens not anyone here.

im with everyone one on this issue, ill rip any northshore down if it is built, if we have stuff like that the tracks are slowy gonna be closed down if we dont start taking care of what is there at the moment, and some much needed care is due on the tracks but been caught with a shovel and pick may come with a heavy penilty and Cause some of the stuff at the bottom is absolute crap there is some pretty dumb lines and jumps been made and reckless removel of trees and srub and leaving of rubbish which isnt makingthings better, on another note for anyone riding the tracks watch for wildlife eg big farkin lizards and snakes as i went up on sunday and nearly ran over a snake and a lizard nearly the length of my bike,
my 2 cents
cheers tim

Yeah that sucks major arse how a few morons can stuff it up for the rest that have 2 brain cells to rub together who do the right thing. Shits me up the wall something chronic.
Sucks even more coz I live in Belgrave right near Mt D and now that my knuckle has heald from when I fractured it jumping some steps (rather un sucsefully) I want to go ride Mt D when I pickup my bike after it gets fixed. I don't want what is probably a great place to ride (I dunno haven't ridden it... yet) bared because of a few knuckle heads. It's simple, ride the legal tracks. Checkout the legal tracks @ Mt D (http://www.bv.com.au/file/dandenong_ranges_cycling_guide_03(1).pdf) (523KB PDF) if you don't know.

hey i juz got bak from ridin dandenong then and its lookin pretty gud.channel 10 is still mostly blocked off at the top though.i hit some other trails in olinda area and they were really fast open tracks with a few jumps, and because they are marked managment vehicle tracks they are aperently legal if you go by the "legeal places to ride" PDF file above.

Well in that case who wants to get a propper group together and go to the council park rangers or who ever we nwwe to contact and try and get the track legalised? They will probably listen to 10 people rather than 1.
What has been done already to try and get it legalised?

qite a lot of us have tried, the ehad ranger is impossible to get hold of and someone has already met with them. Its noy as simple as saying lets get the track legalised.
a year ago a note was put out in all local papers asking recreational groups who wanted the use of mt dandenong should contact them as they were puting plans in o accomadate those groups within the mountain, the end date closed, and they are no longer intrested in hearing about it. SWehave a goup of people who are still trying despite this.

I know it aint gonna be easy, anything worth doing isn't easy. But I'm thinking if we get a group of people together and we go about it proprly, officialy, do it by the book then we might have a chance. It won't hurt to try. I figure if enough people make enough noise then they can't ignore us and they actualy have to think about it if we put foward a goodenough case. So who else is up for giving it a go?

hey, all
whos been working down at the jumps bellow ch10?
it looks really good, clean of all sticks, even rubbish:eek: ect...
even though you've trampled alittle plant life, and uncovered the tracks blocked off to prove a point (ie: the step up)
but sadly the jumps are in very poor condition, i dont know about the rest of you, but i have given up there, to many people i guess, and an increasing amount of motorbikes:mad: mabey this winter try and revamp it.
any way if you want a hand or just wanna ride in there pm me, i live 2min ride from there.
cheers, Matt.

Yeah its a bummer with those silly things at the bottom... Every little riders knows about them and all they do is go wild unfortunatly... Its a bummer MTBers missed out on the application crap the rangers had a while ago..
Lets hope for the best and push forward to the future of MTB at Mt D...
