Hey Guys,

Just thought i'd introduce myself and show yas my new purchase. hopefully it'll be a good starting place. Seems to be fairly well specced, apart from a few small things. I dont think i'll have to upgrade the juicys any time soon though:D. Just about threw me over the handlebars on the test ride. Any way heres the spec list.

Frame: 07 DiamondBack BSX Hydraformed Alloy
Forks: Marzocchi Drop Off 4
Brakes: Avid Juicy 5s (8" f & r)
Drivetrain: 18speed deore
Handlebars: Hussefelt dh riser
Stem: Hussefelt A head.
Wheels: Sun Single track
Freewheel: Sram pg850
Crankset: Truvativ Ruktion with Howitzer BB and 10mm bash gaurd
Seat: SDG Bel air

Let me know what you think guys and if you can see any obvious weak points in the spec. I wouldn't mind changing to single front chainring so i can get a decent chain guide. I HATE that farkin chain slap.

Cheers,
Jeremy

absolutely hit the nail on the head. bit of everything, mostly trails/downhill and a few jumps when i can't be stuffed driving anywhere. forks are the biggest problem i see. top out is already giving me the sharts, not to mention the lack of adjustability. mmm..pikes...

ta mate, its a diamondback (DBR - DiamondBack Racing) bsx comp. i wouldnt say its all that good for jumping, probly a bit long and big. 150mm of travel is a tad too much as well. saying that i did some jumps last night and the bike certainly wasn't the limiting factor;) .

That's the one that was in the last AMB, I remember them calling it "a good 'only' bike" which is exactly what it looks like.

Nice bike by the way...

just be careful if you get pikes, as i have the 06 model BSX comp, and have clearence issues with the crown of the fork.

other then that there not a bad bike, are pretty speced up for what they are. only down fall is the top tube angle.

they ride really well enjoy it:D :D :D

Sweet ride mate colour looks fantastic.. Enjoy it!!

On the Chainring side of things, look into "BlackSpire" chainrings, for a non shifting ring, then u MIGHT want to get a box guide... truvative or e13.. both have their following...

Pikes Are SWEET.
Truvative box guides DO WORK!!
YUM, JUICY 5's and 8"! :D

yeah bit of an improvement definately... especially when i got this for less than i could get an 06 model for. though my 8yo little sister took one look at it and said "eooow that colour makes me spew!!!". Not eveyones cup of tea so it seems.

cheers buddy. this is my only bike and the first i've owned in a good 10 years. As For building the bike, that wasn't me... This is the stock spec for the 07 BSX Comp. I did however spend a good couple of months researching what would be the best specced bike for me to start on for my price range, so i'll take it as a compliment anyway ;) .

Also in AMB they said the frame started to bend a little.....
Might have 2 watch out for that......

hrmmm... will have to. Frame has lifetime warranty so its probably not a problem but still, not a good thing. Any of you fellow BSX owners had any of these troubles?

I got one of these bikes, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to bikes and the specs but it sure feels nice to ride. :)

take caution of the brake mounts on it- aka dont do heaps of trials style riding on it. or pivots etc brake mounts have never been the greatest and its seems to of plagued the 05+ on models.
