Reminds me a lot of a Nicolai and/or a Yeti ASX.....which is another way of saying sweeeet ride mate, go hard!
*Edit, that's an interesting choice of derail...derallie....the X7 (you'd think I'd know how to spell that by now....). I've riden both the X7 and Carbon XO and found there to be very little difference. Maybe this was due to my complete lack of riding finesse, I don't know, but I found the X7 to be great. Was it the same for you or more reasons of economy that made you choose and X7 over X9/XO?
Also, are you DHing or FRiding?

New flavour of the year?
hell yea! thrash bikes small lightish bikes that can thrown around anywhere! that and the slopestyle OS has boosted them alot.
give me one for the tracks round here, their perfectly suited to them
Very nice. Bottlerockets would have to be my favorite frames. Ive been saving for quite a while.

Value? I mean those things are $1799 ferchrissakes! If it works then its a steal.
Contemplating acquiring one myself.
iscarr, are you very tall or did you just want the extra seatpost extension? Most people seem to be buying the S or M sizes. Was the DHX an expensive option?
he just wants to show the Thomson logo on his seatpost

Hah, no I meant because the L has a longer seat tube than the other two sizes (as well as the top tube of course), whereas the S and M are both the same seat tube length as each other (but 1" different top tubes).

Basically this bike wasnt a total new build from scratch, some parts like the rear x7 I already had of another bike, as well as wheels etc. Also I dont fancy smashing a $400 X0 on a rock when i come off at speed :S
At the moment im doing a lot of DH on it, and im loving it. I've always been a fan of lower geometry framed bikes. And as cliche as it is, this is kinda do it all sort of bike for me.

Yep, $1799 delivered sold me, that price included the dhx too!
And yeah most people get S or M, and aside from being about 195cm tall (6'4-5ish) i would have go one too:D :D :D Thats the reason for the extra post too.

I thanked my lucky stars that I had the same perspective on deralliers when I put two X7s into the spokes on my Stinky!
For your requirements, I think you've made a sterling choice. Ride with pride! :)

Well thats got me pretty well sold too.
There's most of your answer Mo! Affordable and it works.

Ahh well, 6' 4", fair enough! Thought as much.
Anyway it looks great and echoes the spec I would use (totem, dhx), should be a ripper.

Hey Iscarr,
Transition bikes rock!! Oh My God its so sick.Well done to building an awesome piece of art. :p
Since we had a chat about ya bike a while back and seeing it now makes me want to get mine transition built to.
Cheers Pete
wow... that's awesom, you've set the bar pretty high for Aussie Transition owners. The seat tube gusset is a lot more subtle on the black frame, especially once it's built up.
do you mind if I put that photo up on the endo website?

I love it, it looks tops!!
At the moment im doing a lot of DH on it, and im loving it..
Really.... on a 5.5" travel bike!
Does it handle DH that well? reason why I say that, is some bikes have the inches there, but dont 'feel' like they use them, and on the other hand, some bikes dont have the inches there, but 'feel' like they have more than the listed travel..
I'm keen to look at getting one for a trail bike, what is the weight of your selected build?

Thank you Endo Imports for your sensible pricing policy - I just checked the price of a Preston FR on your website against the US price and you come pretty freakin' close once the currency conversion/GST/duty is taken into account..
This is what Australia needs more of - importers with the nouse to charge a realistic price for an aftermarket frame so that they make up in volume what they may not make in a ridiculous profit margin..
Awesome bike and a sensible importer. Good work all 'round.
I love the Bottle Rocket - great spec. Very keen to try a Totem and see how it compares to my Lyrik.
EDIT: I aint having a crack at the little guys here - some of the bigger, more established importers need to have a serious think about the prices they are charging for bike bits..

You make it sound really easy... trust me it's not. keeping the customer happy is easy enough, keeping suppliers and dealers and advertisers and sponsored riders all happy can take a lot of your time and money.
To get our pricing that low I invented a new business model, it's based on a mix of two existing bussiness models and two really big assumptions. If we're still around in 5 years then I'll tell you what the tow big assumptions were :p

Well I hope it pays off for you - Transition seems to be a fairly bright crew and they are doing well in the US so keep the fingers crossed. The slopestyle/short travel freeride thing seems to be where a lot of FS bikes are heading, so I think you will do well. It aint the right industry if you want to be rich, but nothing beats making a living doing what you love...
My post was having a stab at some of the bigger, more established Aussie importers who pretty much have a captive audience here with after market parts and high end frames, yet still have a monster mark-up over the little guys. I realise that it's not just selling frames and tight profit margins, as the market here is till tiny and may not grow much more, but I appreciate what you're doing, even though it sounds like I'm just bitching.
Shannon at MTB Precision and Bill at DH Direct are two of the smaller players (no insult intended there) I have dealt with in the past who deal with top end gear (Ventana and Turner respectively), and both have provided sound advice, good prices and excellent service.
PS - apologies for the thread hijack..

Superb piece of kit there mate, the brake arrangement on it is dream material in its own right! (I want J-5's for my Norco) and 1799 is definitely a steal for what you get. :D

What can be said that hasn't been stated by all the other eye popped, jaw dropped dudes out there? A Transition that sweet shouldn't be that clean. In my hands it would have been grubby within 5 minutes of completion. Guess you took that photo pretty quick. Again sweet bike and have fun throwing your leg over it, only worry is, once you start riding would you ever stop. Wouldn't at Whistler that's for sure! Good Work!
