Try busfreight. $80 standard fee to anywhere in australia if you drop it at a depot, an extra $16 for them to pick it up.

interesting to know. i am looking for a new bike but was only looking locally because i wasnt sure of how to get it here from interstate. for $80 (assuming seller has it picked up) thats not a bad option. i can now broaden my horizons. thanks for the info

not sure if the website has any info, www.auspost.com.au

but it's always good to check with your local post office anyway.

they can do anything and competitively at that.

I think someone should check their facts before posting.

From personal experience, Aust Post can not send a complete boxed bike as cheaply as busfreight.

Australia post will in most cases not post a whole bike in a single box.

A medium-sized frame when boxed up usually scrapes right on the upper ranges of their dimension limits a large sized frame is a dicey proposition, a whole bike is without a doubt a no-go unless you break it down into separate boxes in which case the pricing becomes nowhere near competitive.
