Thanks guys. The fork is a 2007 Fox 36 Vanilla R. I just got the spring changed the other day to suit my weight (55kgs), and it performs unbelievably now! So many people were telling me "Nah, don't change it, you won't even notice the difference." Like hell I won't notice. It makes such a massive difference! - Mike.

I saw a few of those sitting in Cylcerama - they look the goods. A DHX5 coil upgrade with manitou Ti springs and possibly upgrade to a Van 36 RC2 would still cost you less than an 07 Specialized SX Trail. Just the ride for around here I reckon;)

We built some of these at work a few days ago and they look pretty sweet, not a bad price either, which is what giant are known for these days.

Cheers guys. I use this bike to ride anything and everything, from commuting to work to aggresive trail riding. That is the real beauty of this bike - all it takes is a few quick suspension adjustments to suit the type of riding and i'm all set! I haven't had the opportunity yet to try any downhill type stuff on it, but it is my intention once I am prepared for it. These bikes have an rrp of $3495. - Mike.

The bike has been taken off a few 'suburban' jumps (i.e. limestone walls, stairwells etc) but nothing too major just yet. I'm waiting on a softer rear spring and some armor before I dive into the heavier stuff. Right now it is just a local street warrior which is good because it gives me the opportunity to learn what the bike is capable of. From what I have learnt so far by riding is that this bike forgives many mistakes, and encourages me to try things I would never normally do - I love it! - Mike.

That's a seriously mad bike for the price, I reckon an E-13 DRS would be the cherry on the cake though...

Hi Blake,
Damn straight this bike can handle DH! Drop the seat down, then point-and-shoot and hold on!!! It is a very stable bike. I feel very safe when going down hill at speed and around corners. Plus the brakes have more than enough power to pull you out in a hurry. All that, and yet the bike can still be ridden up hills and around local streets with ease. Giant have found the sweet spot between the all-day XC bike and the casual DH bike. It really is a do-it-all machine. If you can get your hands on one, I doubt you will be disappointed. - Mike.
