So last October I stacked my beloved commuter, an old Farleigh fixed gear trackie. I ate a fair bit of pavement and bruised my brain meaning i couldn't work or do alot of stuff for 1.5-2 months...including drink! WTF is with that, I think the docs were just being down right cruel with that one!
Here is what happened to her:

I have no recollection at all of what happened, but sure looks like i ran smack into someone at an estimated 40-55 kph (what i would usually be doing on the bit of road it happened).
I must have hit something dead head on as my front wheel was pretty much unscathed, gotta thank the radial spoking for that one!
So I have finally bought a new frame and used most of my old parts on it, but changed to singlespeed w/ 2 brakes as it is my ideal commuter. Track bike was fun but not the ideal thing for commuting IMO:

I bought a Surly Steamroller which is running this gear:
Suntour Highflange track hubs laced to Open Pro rims with Dt Champ and black alloy nipples
FSA Oversize Flat XC bars w/ 135mm C'Dale Fire Stem
Tektro V levers w/ Ultegra long arm calipers
FSA Pig Pro Headset
Ritchey SPDs on crap cranks
FSA Post w/ Selle Italia Saddle
Shimano FreewheelI also took the liberty of changing the frame name, not because I am this.....but i do take on some characteristics when riding. I hate everyone on the road when i commute...hahaha:

Future upgrades:
White Industries Cranks
White Industries Trial Freewheel
Paul Components BB
Open Pro rims laced 3x to Miche Sealed Cartridge hubs
Ritchey Pro SPDsBut for now it is freaking awesome, loving it! So short and nippy, really nimble and responsive in handling yet because of the angles it is super stable on the road. Loving it and highly recommend the frameset to anyone looking for a similar ride.
Hope you like it.
Cheers,
Ken
