My back disc brakes are extremely squeeky, the thing is that it only does it sometimes, is it because the rotor is warped or it is wearing in?

search.... gotta remember at least 20 threads on this

It could be that they are just wearing in the pads or the rotor..
the rotor could be warped and is rubbing against the pads
or maybe the the rotor is contaminated with something. Best give it a clean with some brake cleaner

have a look at ur disc brake...

...is it warped?

I would say it more likely that the you need to replace the pads

Thats what SIC Bikes told me to do with mine

Some of my friends had giant alias with hayes so1e brakes and they had to send the bike back to giant for some testing crap, because the brakes were continuesly making noise, but yeah maybe if nothing else works send it back on warrenty ;).

its is probly because it is not aligned properly with the rotor

check that the calliper is square to the axle, and make sure that when the pads make contact with the rotor, have a look if they connect on an angle or something..... id say go over everything like bolts, alignment etc, then if all else fails new pads.

How old is your bike?
And how often do you use it?
Because if it isn't used much, or is new, they could be bedding in.

My $0.02

The Alias is often not the actual brake but the vibrations being reverberated inside the frame at a certain freqency or something along those lines. There was a guy on some forum that had Soles that had the pads and rotors then finally the whole brake replaced before getting HFX-9 and the problem still occuring. He then got a Talon which is also the same frame and it occured as well. This would have to be a worst case scenario but I have an 05' Yukon with the same frame and same problem.

On topic, search for a brake cleaning thread by Stpzeroridah as thats a very effective method.
