^ Not worth the trip if your a seasoned dirt jumper. From the pics I've seen theres notthing wrong with them but not steep enough to be trickable really or even just to pump.

Speaking of new stuff at YY I walked and had a look at the new DH track (not open for riding yet) and it looks ok, way different to the old track with no hucks to flat! (can you believe it). A bit pedally though and also a massive bermfest.

nah the jumps arn't that great, and i wouldn't think of doing any big tricks on them maybe a x-up at the most, and when i was there the downramps had chunks missing out of them, they may have fixed them up, and there not worth the trip but, i'd go there if i were near them for th new north shore
but thats my two cents

The You Yangs are about half way between Geelong and Melbourne. You wont miss them because they a big mountain on flat plains. When you get there go to the parks office and ask the tourism people and they will give you a map and a fairly good idea of where to go. There is two places the XC and DH tracks that are on the north side of the mountain. Down drysdale road to the car park. The skills area is in the western plantation are just near the parks office.
Hop this helped on directions
PS. You might see a car with bikes on it then just follow them.

I went to You Yangs last month and the skills area at the Western Plantation has been completetly demolished. But i found this place where there was 1 long North Shore Balancing thing, then a bit of single track and ended up with these big Table Tops they are pretty fun. Dont remember where it was though

first tym isnt a word.
second, I find it highly unlikly that little kids, would be able to ride the new DJ's... maybe the old ones, but the new ones, off the great circle track, at the right angle turn before the straight that runs along the fence. bout 3/4 from the gate, to the main carpark.

the jump to berm is great fun, and very hard to get going smoothly.
