I've been riding a bike for little over a year, all of it was DH too. I'm happy with my riding ability, the other day (first time down a track) I was on my hardtail and I beat a few duallies. I can gap 6 ft with comfort and drop 4 ft without thinking twice, 6 ft if im focusing. How 'bout you guys?

I rode dh for 3/4 of a year, now getting back into it.

I'm pretty average at DH, but in the first 2 months I could hit 50ft plus gaps, and around 20ft drops/stepdowns.
Now, I want to start doing DH only stuff.

I did a few races at Ourimbah, then got injured and stopped.

I'm a little nervous about trying again, but I might eventually.
Unfortunately it is a little inconvenient to downhill in sydney! YOu really have to dedicate half a day to it at least. The closes track I know of, which I can actually ride, to me is ourimbah, and even that involves 4 hours of driving.

So yeah, probably about 1 or 2 hours total downhill time here.

The biggest drop I ever did was about 3 feet. It was to flat, and a little painful!
I've stacked badly on less though.

I started racing DH in 2004 after a couple of seasons of XC. I've progressed fairly slowly from the bottom end of U17 to sport and now the top end of expert. I think progressing slowly and riding within your limits is a good thing, it means I crash not very often and almost always have a relatively good race run.

You see a lot of U/19's who are ridiculously fast but crash every second run. Thats not really my style however to be a top elite rider a fair degree of craziness and talent is necessary (something I don't have).

I have been racing since about 2004 and I totally pin it everywhere. It's unbelievable how fast I am really. Sam Hill asks me for cornering tips.

I've been riding since the start of this year, but I retired because Sam Hill said he wanted to have a chance at winning again.

I've been Downhilling for about 6-10 months on a duelly and I'm alright, Riding a hardtail for downhill a couple times helped me although I didn't do much. i raced Ourimbah for the first time a couple of weeks ago and raced at Thredbo at interschool (first time), came 33rd in div 2. biggest gap would be about 20-25ft (floater). pretty happy with my efforts.:D

I've been riding for around 5 months on my hardtail. I can do my local dh track pretty good. The biggest gap i've hit has been 17 feet (road gap) and biggest drop is about 5 foot to flat.

Im 14 and ive been riding for about a year now with my friends on a norco sasquatch, and can do 5m gaps, (which was scary cos it was on a crappy wooden jump), also i can do 2-3m drops without hesitation but thats about all.

The reason for posting a claim to be the bestest is simple....
In a thread like this one, no one takes it seriously because it is a stupid question to ask in the first place (refer the post that started this thread). If everyone took it seriously we would write "I have raced DH three times for the sheer pleasure of racing. I came 9th, 11th and 7th in those races. Therefore I have an average finishing position of 9th each time I race in my category". Yeah, sounds simple I know but honestly.......who gives a shit where you finish. At the end of the day we all race to be around other riders and enjoy the racing atmosphere. If you want to see results of elite guys then watch the SBS review when it is on TV.
As for your comment about "just keeping out of the thread".....you didn't even post anything relaitve to the topic! Why post at all you say.......

For the record, I have an average finishing position of 1.00 because I've won every single race I've entered. That makes me the bestest.........

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Catch my drift?
