you can get a killer bike for 3000 second hand. I wouldn't bother spening it on a dh comp when you can get much better.

And in your expert opinion, what makes that Specialized or any other Specialized for that matter so much better than a DH Comp ?? Don't see to many Demo's out racing DH, especially with a previously cracked frame.

As has been said previously many a time the DH Comps are possibly the best value for money DH bikes around well capable of any DH racing or freeriding you would care to throw at them. Set up some quality suspension on them and they are a weapon. Period....again!!!

They cant be that bad if the 2 quickest people in NSW race them.

I guess they arnt all that bad.

but for 2500 a demo 888rc2xs is pretty good.

Do you have anything that's actually useful to contribute here? Have you spent time on a Demo and/or a DH Comp/Team? If so, spit it out with some kind of justification, not just "DEMOS R BETTAR THEN TEH DH CMOPS". If not, stop wasting space.

Only problem I have had with my Dh comp are linkage bolts come loose on them but a bit of loc-tite and they should be right. I have a medium and I am 6'1 and its about the right size for me.

If you really want to buy a Dh Comp and you think they are good, go for it, its your desition mate, just research the bike that you are interested in b4 purchase, see if its good or not.
I ride a 06 Dh Comp myself, mine's custom, i havnt had any problems so far myself, only with my forks which ime upgrading, but the Dh Comp have a sweet smooth rythm on DH tracks, i love mine and if feels super sweet, ive hucked on it to, but i sugest not to go to big but Dh Comp is sweet ride for downhill i personally think.

Just remember its your choice and research & be careful on what you buy. Thats all i have to say really.

Hope that helps

Make an effort with your posts please. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, general EFFORT... deliberately misspelling "any" as "eny" doesn't even save you a single keystroke, why friggin bother? You've got a full keyboard and probably at least a fundamental education in English, please use them.

Sorry, that wasn't the point I was trying to make, I realise most manufacturers make a great bike, it's all personal preferance and component quality. More that a DH Comp is no lesser bike, can't stand the old "teh DH comps are shite" kinda attitude.

What ever. He's got something usefull to say. He's helping the guy out with his question. Why jump all over him about something as picky as grammer. How do you know he doesn't come from a country where English isn't his first language. Insulting someone because of their typing skills is pretty low dude. Do you walk around the old folk's homes giving nanny crap about not being able to use the VCR. Seriously man, get a life. King of the kids right here.

As far as the DH comp goes, they've been around a while, they've proved themselves on the circuits. There have been some problems with the linkage, but many bikes have that problem, including the very expensive ones. Once you get a bike with decent geometry, it's more about setting up the suspension correctly and then learning how to ride your new bike.

I ride an 06 DH comp and love them! I've found that once you have dialed in your suspension and upgraded the forks from Boxxer race to team (VIA a $200 valve gate), the bike handles well and jumps well! I still see quick riders on the local trails riding the Blue team DH with Dorado forks and after talking to them, they still love the way they handle.

Did I insult you? No, I told you to make an effort with your posts. Then you respond with that crap plus a couple of abusive PM's, and claim that I have insulted YOU? Funny shit.

How do I know English is his first language? Because I've spoken to him via PM, because I've read some of his other posts, and because he's been told off for posting utter shit at least twice before. Did I insult him? No. Did you and him both chuck insults at ME? Yes. Think before you post.

for farks sake S...... you might want to think before you post mate. SMS speak is not to be encouraged but it should be tolerated.....ask Reece, he is the fastest fucker I have ever seen on a bike. He is under 20, talks in SMS speak and rides an STP. In Farkin land he is the enemy but trust me I would listen to 30 seconds of truth from that skinny little dudes mouth than some under-grown mod on an internet site talking shite. Not everybody here did year 10 went to uni, or has a masters in ellocution, in fact some people have learning disabilities that make us sound dumb in farkin land..... I find your modding circumlocutory, verbose and dismissive. There you go no SMS speak, big words and a fine use of the English language, does that mean my opinion on mt biking is to be more highly held? For your info I am over 30, ride a V10 and have a high paying job and have a degree and a masters....so therefore in your world I am to be listened to. In actual fact the guy on the STP smokes me as does Doggi. How fast are you mate, or are you really the King of the Kids?
