I am wondering wether these areworth looking at? seeing as i'm still only a noob :p .

But for a beginner would either one suffice?
Which one would you recomend

Cheers

I'd steer clear....The electronics are no doubt brand-less and of poor quality. Depends how much you expect out of it though....I mean, if you're happy just to cruise around, and buy new parts every so often, then it might be fine. I bought a super cheap (in terms of wuality and price) heli-copter, but new electronics cost next to nothing for the model I have, so whenever I break something, its an easy fix.

Oh no please no. Those cheap ebay built rc electric cars have bad enough servos to put you off rc cars forever. What you get is what you pay for .

Look up smartech. There a really good begginer rc.I got mine off ebay and i was realy happy with it being my 1st rc, and now i have all uprgaded ones , i look back to my begginer smartech buggy and i had no problems what so ever.

smartech may or may not be available from a popular british bicycle retailer ;)

look at this g/s truck (http://www.hobbyco.com.au/product/show_item.php?plu=GS2005RT)

or this 4wd buggy (http://www.hobbyco.com.au/product/show_item.php?plu=GSC3000APT)

both are good cars and parts are easy to get i think there are like 3 hobbyco stores in nsw

since your new to the RC scene, dont start with a nitro.
They are a huge pain in the ass to maintain and you will end uo soured on the whole expriece.
And then theres the fact you need to buy fuel all the time etc etc.
Just get an eectrivone and get a mamba max brushless engine.
Off you go, kick some nitro ass.

firstly starting onroad nitro is the worst thing but off road is easier and much less breakable they are fast aswell nitro fuel isnt that expensive especially if you buy bout 5lt at a time

Electric is where you want to start, you will get fast, reliable, and good fun car for the money you are looking at. You will get a peice of crap nitro/petrol car for that money unless you go second hand, and you dont want to go there.
It may work for a little bit, but you will have no end of problems with electronics, and the chassis and suspension will be crap, you will break suspension, drivetrain, and other things and it will give you the s**ts cause you cant replace them because they are cheap noname components you cant buy at the local RC shop
Start cheap, start electric and start common. You will learn how to drive the car, if you break it you can replace it, and it will be heaps more fun than a cheap ass nitro car that will break itself.

yea, electric would be the best place to start, its where i started and have only recently moved over to nitro but i still have my first electric car that will kill any cheap/low end nitro. i work in a hobby shop and i know that when people come in with ebay cars from no name brands that i cant help them and they end up telling me how much they spent etc... i suggest that you stay with brands like HPI, Traxxas, Kyosho and Tamiya. any more questions just post them up and we will help you.

If you're really keen on nitro, go traxxas.
I've got a traxxas Revo 3.3 and its awsome. They come fully built with all the bits and pieces you'll need (except for fuel and batteries).

I good start would be the Nitro sport, its off road but can go on, over 38mph (60 km/h) and it should be below $500 new, very nice...

Or You can watch a video of it

traxxas do make some very nice low end cheaper cars, i would also reccomend HPI's Nitro EVO RUSH which is also around $500 RTR depending on where you go, either of these cars would make an ideal starting truck for you to learn on.

Save your money and put it into your next mountain bicycle, or take-up Backgammon, perhaps.

thats true, we all need a hobby that can take place when its raining outside and we cant ride, nitro cars can be run in the rain without any problem, let this guy start his hobby.

Ok, fair enough. I had actually been quite into RC in the past - planes, boats and cars. I still have an RC10DS in perfect nick, but these days I see more value in physical-type activities like swimming, beach fitness etc. Each to his own i spose..
