I only just heard about this today at work. Apparently Four Corners had a story on it the other night. (http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2007/s1873399.htm)

Real people making real money in a non-real world! Check out the stats on the website, it's pretty amazing.

I joined up today but haven't really had anytime to explore to much (nor am I that keen to actually pay for a membership). From the quick cruise around I had on Orientation Island it seems pretty cool, if that's your thing.

Anybody had any experience on there, care to share with us?

Nothing as hypcritical as calling someone from an internet "community" a nerd on an internet forum....:confused:


Now has anyone got anything interesting to speak of. It's the financial side of Second Life that really has my interest. Hell, the place has produced a real life millionaire.

Actually, its relaly hard to make a decent amount of money on there.

You can make heaps by a) Making very rare/scripted objects that will be popular, then opening a store, or b) get heaps of cash, then gamble it. Send me a PM and i'll send you somewhere to make L, you won't make much but.

So yeh.

I heard about this a while back and think it's an interesting idea. I'm not going to check it out though, another internet opiate for the masses to become addicted to.
