was working at the crematorium at rookwood today, fun. and noticed that the floor of the furnaces arent flat, they are rippled from heat.. So, ash tends to build up. first interperson mixing
NOW
the ash is then scrapped out into a tin with all the chunky bits and put into a bone grinder...
this contains a heap of stainless steel ballbearings( this grinder is not often cleaned) 2nd point of mixing
i think if we new this we would opt out!
now i bet most people have never thought about what happens to loved ones... hope this makes you think twice..
p.s this is gross!
i just happened to cop a gob full of the dust from on top of the furnace..benn sick all arvo...not nice!

Dunno why that would worry anyone, we'll be dead anyway...
I certainly still want to be cremated...

I reckon its the emotional attachment to ashes rather than the actual composition that people really care about. and Ignorance is bliss.

Nah mate, i reckon its just the thought - probably nothing wrong with eating a little ash (its just carbon and other elements...). Like that hospital smell, when ever i smell detol i instantly think of blood and other nice stuff and make myself sick.

true.. the thought is a hard thing to cop though.. can ya think how many people have been through there... i know my grandad was cremated there... i really gotta stop thinking...

Its nothing to worry about. Like said before, its nothing but ash. There is nothing left too cause any probs whatsoever. Appart from eating ash isnt really generally good for you.
If you are worried about the cremetorium you never want to go see what happens at the morgue. Ive spent too much time there and have seen some things that just shouldnt be seen.

Now that you've sucked in the remains of someone's body you will have an extra strand of DNA. You would be able to do a big robbery and you could argue the point if they said "But your DNA was on site". You could answer by saying "Well, the bloke that did it must be somewhere..........I worked that day!". They would then discover that the person who did it is now dead and he has your DNA in his remains because the only sample they could get was from the floor of the furnace that you coughed all over when you tasted the dust of burnt flesh:eek: ...........
Does that type of thinking make me a criminal minded baffon or a highly intelligent intellect who should offer his services to the FBI.

Well it's all a question of morality, innit? With criminally ingenious ideas such as that you could make a mint and never worry about getting caught however would you be able to sleep at night, knowing that your powers could be used for good?

Definitely time to get into the coffs underworld side of things dozer. Hire pyley as your slightly crazy, glasses wearing hitman. he's eaten the souls of a thousand roasted peaceful sleepers. Can't hurt the image too much.

Slightly off topic ...BUT
I have thought about all the energy i have consumed since birth, mothers milk, baby food, all the myraid of plant and animal flesh that i have consumed throughout my existence and of the same things consumed by those before me, mother, father, grandparents, great grandparents etc. stretching back for millenia.
And when i die i will either be burnt and all this energy will be transformed into heat and wasted or locked up in a box where said energy will be stopped once again from returning back to the earth.
To me this seems very wasteful.I would much rather be dropped whole into the ocean or into the bush somewhere where i can complete the (Groan) "circle of life" and actually have my energy return back to nature from whence it came.
Is this a strange theory?
Does anyone else think nature is being robbed of this energy?
Or am I just a freak?

As for the original question; I couldn't give a rat's what they do after I die, chop me up and feed me to the pigs Snatch stylee for all I care. I'll be busy getting God/Lucifer in a headlock and knuckle-rubbing his head!

Matter can't be created or destroyed. It just gets changed into different forms. Cremating bodies turns it into water vapor, CO2 and ash which is mainly carbon. Bury the ash and plant a tree on top so that the tree turns the carbon into tree and the tree use the water vapor and CO2 released to grow.
Nature ain't being robbed here. Burying a perfectly good, energy rich corpse in a graveyard, that is robbing nature.

Turns out all the bodies I buried in my yard haven't helped the garden beds at all! Well that was a waste of time. Back to bush funerals....

I know this sounds weird but I sit here at my computer with both my Dad and my Mums ashes beside me, and a million other peoples by the looks of it, and I don't care whats in there. It is symbolic because to me this is still some small part of my folks. Sometimes when things are going bad I even talk to my Dad, luckily he doesn't answer back, unlike my boy.:)
My grandma used to really love her garden, and she asked her two daughters to scatter her remains in her back yard after she died. She died about four years ago and they did what she asked. But she wasn't cremated, so we don't go out there anymore.

I always thought that dead stuff is good for plants..
As animals, we comprise of loads of protein, or amino acids that contain lots of nitrogen and other trace elements. Plants respond well to nitrogen fertilizer, do they not? Hence the phrase, 'pushing up daisies'.
