S types are they the same as MTX rims ?
I think S Types are pinned not welded.
I'd go the 729s over S Types cause they are bomb proof. People say 721s are lighter than the 729s but a lot lighter. I got the 729s cause I wanted disc specific rims. I'm very happy with them, I tend to plow over rocks and my wheels are still straight as the day I got them.

MTX joints are welded, S-Type are pinned.
So, S-Type = weak MTX.
Go the 729 out of the two (in my opinion anyway).

Check there sites for weight,i am running 729s and they are great:)
how would 729s compare to mtx's
729 are a stronger rim on the sidewalls, mtxs would dint alot easier in dh than the 729 would. But there fairly similair in strength overall.
