By lesson I assume you mean initiation, not sure exactly, check out the raw nrg site www.rawnrg.com.au or ring them, the number is on the site, talk to Fiona, she should be able to help you out.

The others pretty much have it figured -give RawNRG a call if you havent already.. If you have your own bike, body armour, full face helmet etc - but havent ridden DH at Thredbo before and need to do an initiation; the cost is $99 (this includes the morning guided initiation and chairlift access for the day).

No you don't need to book ahead. $100.00 initiation and $60.00 per day after that... Just make sure you get a weather report before you go... I missed out cause the rain closed in and I travelled from Toowoomba

that sucks about rain! :(

but yeah talk to Fi - she knows the deal about it all... tell her Gillian said hi! The initiation doesn't take too long so you can still get in lotsa runs and you only ever have to do it 1x... then you get a dirt card and are in the computer so you can just buy day passes...

Have fun sich nich! I just got home from Thredbo and its been loads of fun :) The guys should be working on the terrain park right now.. (yet to get all of the stuff up on the hill) - We have one small ply kicker/tabletop already installed, another larger one on its way, and also yet to be put in; northshore style ladders, see-saws, and the infamous Sled-Saw from the 03 Red Bull Ride. Mmmm *drool* . . .

I hope you arnt calling that wooden box of death a terain park. To all that go to thredbo a black dimond near something doesnt mean its hard it means go slow or you will die!!! Who's ass did you guys have to kiss so KT would let you do some thing new there? It will be nice when the new bunny track is done so you can punch out stop free runs. Ill let you guys know what this terain park is like as iam up there most weekends.

Haha Aussie, yeah the ply tabletop is just the beginnings of where the terrain park is going to be  Its mainly just a smallish jump for guys to have a go at or get the feel of jumping. The Black Diamond is mainly a deterrent for absolute beginners that may come rolling into it at a decent speed and get messed up.
RawNRG got approval (which even surprised me) from 'the hill' head honchos to put in any wooden structures in that area before bunnywalk mainly because it isnt exactly visible from the village.

went down 29th nov for the first time and one tip is to cover you chain stays and swinger/four bar linkage with inner tube or rubber just zip lock it on because they do get scratched up on the chair lifts,if you've got a pricey rig and you want keep your paint on its a goood idea.they don't tell you this on rawnrg.com but you'll see the initiation instructors have nearly their hole rigs covered in rubber crank arms and all.
