The back tire on my buds bike exploded 3/4 the way threw
a kid at interskools on a xc bike with no chain, about to start his DH run

the bike keep on flipping down half the track. other than that i havent really seen anything else funnier apart from the beer garden picture at one of the races down south (was it brissie?)

winning the dual (not 4X) at Mt Beauty in '99,
there was a collision at the start
and Joels wheel buckled big time and was un ridable
so we shouted out run and he started running down the course with his bike while the other guy was getting himself back in order.
Joel got overtaken on the 2nd last double then they guy jumped the last one and landed straight into the other side, where joel overtook him to win the race ( finals?) in the last 3 meters of the course.
good on ya Joel keep up the good work.

DHD was racing majura and got it all wrong on a really quick berm. Lost the back wheel, slapped it on a tree, spun 270 degrees and ended up rolling BACKWARDS on the front wheel down the hill off the side of the course with the back wheel about 2 foot in the air. John Tucker got a shot of it. I couldn't stand up for laughing. Hey DHD, post the pic!
Socket land on his back at rob roy off the big jump ;) jokes, that must of hurt, but i got a good photo!

I was the victim, but it must have looked damn funny... I was practicing 4x at Bacchus, and some guys I know (including andrew) were hurling abuse at me from the sidelines, so I gave them the finger mid air over one of the jumps, then proceeded to wipe out badly on one of the following jumps...

Funniest thing I saw was some guy do the three drops at the bottom of Blue Range nationals a few years back. He was wayyy over the back of the bike and slapped his butt on the back tyre. The tyre pulled his Fox racing pants and his jocks down and he rode off bare assed to the finish line. There must have been about 500 people watching! :lol:

well..it wasn't a race so i dunno if it counts...but seeing notobe first launch himself a metre or so off a jump he'd never hit before and landing crooked on his front wheel and head plant the ground..then proceed to stack onto his balls off a tank drop and then fall off a wall he was skinnying on and bend his handlebars..all in one day. dont you just love days like that ? damn..i need a digital camera..

One of the funniest thing i have seen at a race was Steve Marsh at willunga 2years ago, as he crossed the finish line he pulled a big nose wheelie to show off in front crowed car park and he crashed. Another funny racing incident involving steve marsh was fox creek the same year, his chain guide jamed and he ran and pushed his bike for most of the track and still quailfied top 10 in expert. What is even funnier was that people were still yelling pedal when he was running his bike.

2000 Nat Jarra cox blowing out his front wheel after launching the over pass at the top of horse hill in buller ... kaboommm all except 3 spokes on the rotor side were snapped .. Jarra's comment "you think it will be alright for final run" ? err no Jarra

if u count 03 great vic bike ride as a race then i didn't see it happen but a guy was riding in a 10 man group and they all swirved, he got put off by something and he was still going strainght and went straight through the back window of an ambulance because it was a 'steep' (for road bikers) section, didn't see but heard of people saying
