What do you people know on:
Cliffcat "tankass" and
Evil "imperials" and what do you people reckon on them.
Is there anywhere in Austrailia you can get them?

cliffcat is a tank and the evil is possibly the best hardtail ever made- next to the g-box imperial

clifcats can be compared to the 24 le toy in the aspect that they both weigh as much as a tank, as they are also that strong. the imperial is used all throughout the east coast as a park and urban bike, and every one who has one swears by it. if i were doing freeride and dh, the clifcat is the way to go, but for park urban and things like that take the imperial. also look into the sinister ridge or dna bikes.

how do you know this? do you have experience in riding the evil urban street park and dh? and the same as the cliff cat?

i havent ridden an evil set up for dh, but i have ridden a clifcat, and the way it is built/made seems like it would last alot longer than an evil. i dont know how the evil handles on a dh course or anything like that, but i havent seen many dh imperials. most ever evil ive seen is set for park or urban riding, as the tankass is set for dh, maybe its just cuz the tankass is too heavy for most riders. i dont know for sure, but what i said is what i heard. On www.bustedspoke.com or www.hcor.net you can learn alot about sinister evil clifcat or any other east coast bike.

As far as I know there isn't an Aus distributor/importer, so no, no shops will be able to get them and warrant them locally.

yes and wombat is right, i have spoken with the evil guyand they have to be imported
its not like your gonna need the warranty anyway, if you snap an evil or clifcat (as dicky always says)i want footage.

But that's the thing, you probably wouldn't be able to snap the frame normally, but if you happen to get a friday-arvo frame which has a dodgy headtube weld (it's rare but it could happen) then you could very possibly rip the headtube off, and THAT'S what warranty is there to protect you from.
cant norco get int the evils??
thats what i heard anyway....

infact clifcat is not that heavy.the older ones weight at 7lbs for the frame alone, but the new ones weight about 6lbs which is the same as the evil.as for wat is suitable for wat kinda riding,it purely depends on ur setup.inface i think the the clifcat,if setup properly ,is much better for street and urban.many of us have seen tankass on dual crowns.but if one fits a sc fork on it,it would be simply one of the sweetest street machine, considering the super short chainstay which is onli 15.25".u can request a custom built one which is same as mine,15" chainstay flat! and it purely fits 24" rear wheel onli.wat beats that?

hahaha alex thats not nice :( i and my bike got offended by that.....*cries*...i wanna get sum more skill up b4 i decide on what bike to get (also gotta wait for money tho)
Why not just get a .243 or a an On One Gimp, a DMR, KeeWee, Craftworks or one of the other hardcore hardtails that you can actually get from an Australian supplier or bike shop? Theres a heap of options out there without having to get something imported from the US. If you want something really special theres plenty of small custom frame companies, Thylacine, Liquid, Spot etc etc......
