I know some people get pissed off with members telling people to do searches... But seriously this topic has been covered at least 10,000 times.

DO A SEARCH

i've ridden a bike with argyles and pikes, they are both really good forks but if you are doing a bit of everything the pikes will handle what ever you throw at it another vote for pikes!

Even on the first page of this section, there is a handful of dj/street fork questions.
I would opt for argyles.
Did you know that 'argyle' is a place in western australia, and is home to the biggest opencut diamond mine in the world (at least thats what my chemistry book from 92 says), correct me if i am wrong, so i can complain about out of date chem books:p

Pikes or Fox 26's if your budget allows. You said you ride a bit of everything and these are two strong light forks with plenty of adjustabililty to suit just about all types of riding.

man i've been askin myself for months what forks to get, and reading these forums only makes things more complicated. best thing to do i think is find a bikeshop with some people who know their shit and won't jerk you around. i've finally decided to put pike 426's on my new blackmarket riot after talkin to the guys at fortheriders. they said the argyles were pretty good, and also the marzocchi 4x's, but if you can afford it go the pike 426 cos of all the features it has. and man when you see it in the flesh you can see the quality over those other forks down to the finest detail. the gold label 2's are supposedly good as well for the first few months.....

Yeah ill be building up a black market riot to pretty soon in about 3 months and im tossing up between Argyles and Pikes. Correct me if im wrong but the base model of Argyles are about 600 and The Pike 426's are 1100?

brad353
24-05-2007, 10:23 PM
yeah the argyles are around 600 and i think you're pretty close with the 426's aswell, but i'm gettin em for 1000. i'm sure you could heckle your bikeshop down to that. i was gonna go argyles at first but after holding an argyle in one hand and a 426 in the other the choice was easy. n if you're buildin up a custom riot man, the choice should be easy for you to- nothin but the best
