View Full Version : Boxxer Race Vs Team

I'm wondering who out there has ridden both Boxxer Race and Team forks and what the real difference is? Are the Team's worth the extra $$$. I'm buying a new frame and can get Boxxers with it at a good price but I can't decide which ones??????

i say, get the races, then if you really feel like it, buy a compression cartridge from rockshox. It will knock a couple of hundred dollars off the price of a boxxer team, but give you the exact same fork. I ride a team, and the compression controll really is good, but if you dont have it, then you cant miss it.

i have race but no tema, nor ridden them.But the race feel really really smooth, just need to get some butter to make them better and plush

I'm *fairly* sure the price of a Race + cartridge actually ends up about $30 or something more than a Team. However, a Mojo cart or something would be nice all the same.

Hmm, it may have changed since i did my research in oct 02 for my forks but back then it was a fair bit cheaper to get a cart and a race. Especially since theres quite a few 03 races floating around for new still. I saw one in a shop yesterday for around the 1100 dollar mark.

Ya, I was under the impression that RS bumped the cartridge price to stop people doing that tho... however I can't quote any specific info so I may be wrong there.

yeah, just like they bumped the price of a stoke up to 500 bux to fuck over the people that imported forks from o/s that didn't come with crowns.

What's the go with the Mojo carts? Are they an aftermarket compression cartridge? Is there a URL?

OK I've checked out the prices and RRP for the Boxxers is approx $1250 and $2199. (freedom machine.com)
The Mojos are 199 pounds ($470) + customs ($100) + shipping ($50) (all guesses).
Looks like Mojo'd Race's will be around $1900.
With a frame you can get teams for less than that.
I think I'll go that way. Thanks for the help guys.
