I'm in the process of giving up smoking...
and right at this second I would strangle and rob an old grannie for her half smoked cigarette!

*runs of to find some kind of distraction*

Stick with it, no matter how hard it is!
Go for a ride or something, try something new, it will keep your mind off it!
Good luck.

don't hold me to this but i hear a quick fix is nicorette patch+shaved scrot patch, only one way to find out i guess.
You shave after youve put it on your scrot patch right.....RIGHT? :)
On yer Nikon... did it myself 3 years ago so all cred to you. For what it's worth I found it helped if I NEVER told anyone I was giving up and simply said "I don't smoke" when asked/offered etc. Also saying "I don't smoke" puts you in a totally different mind set to the one that has you thinking you're "giving up" something.... Of course all you're really giving up is ill-health, right?

Thats a good way of looking at things Grip, not just with giving up smoking, but in life in general. Basicly, by saying "I dont smoke" your kind of convincing yourself that you never actually did smoke, therefore making it easier to give up (Something your brain is convinced you never did). Works in theroy, just put it to practice.
LN, you said it yourself (or was it Bo?) at the YouYangs, "This is great normally we'd start coughing now" :P Reason enough to keep workin on it, in my book, especialy with the upcoming enduro's and epics planed

Have been using that one Grip... works well.
Up to day 10 now, most of the time I'm fine, it's just around 9 - 10 at night that it really gets to me.
hang in there.... youll get over it....
what happens at 9 - 10pm?

Hhmm, I dont know your pain. But I have felt others. EG: My Father. He was like, smoking a pack a day, and he had to give up in a month for the 6 week trip we were going on. He was under the biggest craving for them, all he just did was not think about it. Did the things he enjoyed most (apart from smokiing).
ps: the funniest thing was that when we got on the plane. There was a smoking section on it. LOL. He was so pissed of he didn't talk the rest of the trip pretty much!

eat an apple, play with a rubber band with your hands, chew on somthing.. somthing to take your mind off it
one of my mates tried patches and found the later night cravings were taking it out of him so he now uses gum and is much more happy.
