No such thing as the best tyre, depends on your riding style, where you ride, etc etc.
Personally I like Mobster Super Tackys but other people will tell you different.

I find it easist to go stright to the Maxxis website. If I WERE looking at a Maxxis, and they'll give you a list of they "tyres" (*cough* tires *cough*) for what they're specific use is..

intense T-I-R-E-S are really good, i swear by them
i swear at my intense tire  sorry.
Intense are great but you pay for them, maxxis have a good range. It all depends on what riding you're doing. What are the tracks like? dust, mud, berms, rocks, rockgardens?

dust, mud, berms, rocks, rockgardens?
they're mutually exclusive now?? :P
as for tires... you really should ask a slightly more specific question

TYRE is the correct spelling. TIRE is for Americans because they never could learn to spell properly so had to change the spelling of everything.
I run MAXXIS High Roller 40durometer tyres. They grip really well, especially when aired down.

Yeah that's about the sum of it. Tyre is the original English spelling of the things you stick over your rims, and 'tire' is what lots of riding can do to you. The Yanks seem to believe that tire means either of the two.

I'm running a Maxxis Minion 2-ply Slow Reezay 2.7 up front and 2.5 rear - works a treat! (Soon to change to 2.7 Super-Tacky front)
