She was on 36 months probation from a pervious drink driving charge and she failed to meet the terms of her probation. I think jail for 45 days is fair IMO.

When that Rodriguez girl from (apparently) Lost (Don't watch it, never will) got done drink driving and was sentenced to 30 days, she was told to piss off within 2 hours of arriving due to "overcrowding".
She'll be a liability that the prison won't want.

The prison she'll be going to will hardly be tough on her. Sorry to say it but no ragging strap on wearing lesbians will be getting to her. She'll be serving her time in an isolated cell that will probably be more decked out than most peoples bedrooms.
We can only hope that it does knock a bit of sense into her. It's comforting in a way to see that even the highest profile celebrities can't get away with everything.

Realistically this wont mean shit to her. she will get all the treatment in the world while subliminally blackmailing the prison with threats of her safety.
That said, if it were to be exactly the way it was supposed to be, all prisoners (incl her) would be stripped of everything but their basic rights (food, shelter, safety). i doubt this will happen, and of course she will learn nothing.
afterall, the concept of prison is not to send them away for being bad in the first place, but to give them a regulated environment where they can reflect on what they've done and help bring them to a position where they can be reintegrated into society, and the length of the jail term reflects that.
also, for all the kids here who've watched 10 mins of OZ and think that everyone gets high, shivved or raped, if it was a real life documentary, the show would be rated G.
In Australia, if you commit a crime in prison, there isnt 'time in the hole', the courts just tack on the extra years for that crime to your current sentence. eg: serving 6 years for armed robbery. if you rape someone, they will add another 10 years to your time, now you're in there for 16.
Of course, the question i want to ask her is why was she driving? if shes that popular wouldnt you expect some level of security? a driver who's trained to get her safely too and from appointments? a canceled licence shouldnt mean shit to her, its not like she'll be catching the bus anytime soon.
