Who is the Australian distributor and where is the cheapest place to get them. Here or mail order from the USA?

It's hard, isn't it...

"Neezy" brings them in.

As for cost, do you ever plan on having warranty and servicing done to the shock? Because that's pretty important and should be considered just as much as cost should be.

you may as well stick with a fox or simular

they are just as good, and last waaaayyyy longer

Whereabouts are you acrider??? I have a good LBS source in brisbane - still probably cheaper in the states, but warranty considerations are pretty important when buying something like a 5th element.

The manitou swinger 6-way is almost identical but cheaper apparently.

yer go with the swingers if you cant afford it, same technology in it as the 5th element (since manituo bought the rights). i run a 4-way and its sweet as

Some people say that the 6way Swinger feels more "lively" than the 5th. But they have a few leakage issues, so the 4way would be better for the dollars.

Rik, as soon as I typed it I found the Qld distrib myself. Just lazy.

Ben M, I'm in Sydney and am interested in the cheap place you know about.

I just blew up my Vanilla RC on the DHR coming up short on a double onto a rock. This is the 2nd Fox rear shock I have blown. Strangely enough, the RS Pro Deluxe on the AC2 has worked perfectly.

I want a good rear shock for racing but the Manitou's are fine if they work out cheaper.

what length/stroke do you need? because unfortunately for me I can't get a Swinger in my desired dimensions, they only do the really common ones.

I need a 2.8" stroke, about 200mm eye to eye.

I know the craftworks DHR208 isn't listed here :
http://www.go-ride.com/prod_susp_progressive.html

but I've heard people have managed to get them to fit.

200mm eye to eye?
Hrm

Sure that isn't a 9x3 or something? the longest stroke for 200mm eye to eye is 57mm, which is what I need for my basatardised FRM.

Sorry it's 222mm eye to eye or around 8.74" fully expanded.

As the RC's seized, it's currently at a permanently compressed 200mm.

The spring says 2.8.
Is this the stock spring for DHR208's ?
I've only had the bike a few weeks.

I've just had a bad feeling that I've been running a 2.8" spring on a 3" stroke shock. The coils could have binded resulting in the seizure ? :?:

I'm pretty sure the DHR208 uses a 2.75" stroke shock, as do most DH bikes. 3" stroke shocks are a fairly recent development, and not run on many bikes as stock.
