hey i can do a 180 on the flat and was wondering if it would be possible to do a 360 on a dj do you need allot more air to pull off a 360 compared to a 180 or is it just double the amount that i would need to do a 180?
any advice would be great.
If you can do a 180 hop, i dont think you will have much trouble with a 360, as you will go higher on the jump than you can hop (most likely).
I dont know much about 3s though, as i am a n0000bzorz
alright

hey pad
yeh i was thinking of trying the quater first but at my skatepark the quaters have fences about a meter away from the lip so its hard to do a 360 out of it.

the best way is to do them first outta a ramp. when you spin look over your should and try to spot the landing and your bike will follow. once've got that and getting around chck you style and keep your nose down or flat cuz theres nothing gayer then a spin with the nose up like a hucka...

i've found hitting a quarter pipe or halfpipe, and doing a 360, and land ontop of the half/quarterpipe.
if you master that, you'll get one on da dirt easy, for sure.

No i learned on a dirt quarter i built. Although its a different technique than a 180. instead of bunnyhoping and pulling your bike around, on dirt you essentially just turn abit at the last minute on the upper and look over your shoulder as much as your neck will let you. Try an keep your legs straight and your arms almost straight so your not landing nose right up.
Other than that just keep trying and trying that is the only way you will learn it.

I think what he's trying to say is that the fences are too close, and he doesn't want to hit them. 1m to do a 3-0 isn't a lot of space. it's a lot less than a bike length.

I tried:o .........

the reason he said you will buckle your wheel to buggery is because thats what happened last time.
ok. i did exagerate the 1m landing space out of the quater it's more like 2m and but not much more than that and as im just learning i dont want to be completely ramming myself into the fence.

if you dont want to buckle your front wheel try landing on your back wheel first so you will lose your spin when you land then just let your front end drop, thats how i learnt them without buckling my wheel now i just land flat because my wheel is an mtx now. oh and over dj you might want to downside it a bit so you dont flip when you land, good luck with trying them and have fun :D just dont get hurt :p

i learnt 3's really clean out of a bowl. i reckon they are the best place cuz you got heaps of room to land and u usually have a variable height to choose from, depending which end u jump out.
but, this still didnt help me when i went to dirt. cuz i learnt on concrete, i was used to how concrete behaves... it doesnt move. on dirt u have less traction and the lip may not be as solid. and no matter how solid the dj is built, there will always be a little flex in the dirt, and this makes a massive difference.
i still cant do 3's over dirt. i think it must be a slightly different technique to skate parks.
i got a mate who learnt dirt 3's over a table top, he just kept trying till he got it, and of course, theres not heaps of risk on a table top if u land short. thats prob the way to go i reckon.

oh, what about trying 360 tailtaps first, theyre heaps easier and a very similar motion, plus, its probably better for your wheels.
