I used to like the Gumball 3000, expensive car's going top end.
When I watched it I use to over look the stupidity of some drivers, but after seeing the amount of shit on youtube this year I have changed my mind.

I have viewed so many crashes of car's including a crash resulting in a death of a civilian and the critical injury of another. I am surprised that more have not died. These tossers believe that because they have a $500,000+ car they are top-end drivers, bullshit! what kind of top-end driver crashes on a straight highway.

I fell the event is just to dangerous and should be banned, now don't get me wrong I love cars, there an obsession in my life and I love speed it's something I just have to have in one form or another, but this event is just plain stupid. There putting a large group of ridiculously rich idiot's together and telling them to get from A-B as fast as they can.
These guy's should enter themselves into Targa Rally's. That way there is actually a variety of roads to challenge themselves on were there not putting the public at risk with there lack of driving skills.

seriously bro, there isn't a law to stop people driving their cars...

the law is there to stop them driving like dickheads, if they choose to break it then everybody's got to deal with it, hence having cops to stop them doing it, etc.

not to mention that event or not, some people choose to drive like this, if the gumball 3000 was officially cancelled then i'm sure they'd just do it unofficially anyways.

ain't nothing you can do about it, and you tell me that if you didn't have a million dollar car you wouldn't want to drive it fast ? ;)

We know there's no law to stop people driving their cars. But when something like this happpens, someone driving their car like a cok crosses the centre lines and KILLS an innocent person, it gets you thinking; "Wouldn't we all be alot better off without cars?".

And yes, if you had a fast car you WOULD want to race it..
That's why there are organised events, so people CAN drive their cars fast and get recognised for doing that well.

Whole thing pisses me off.

I think the more measures taken to make it harder for these events to take place the better. No there isn't a hell of a lot that can be done but the first step would be banning the event or having an alliance between all the countries to police the event as much as possible to make it a living hell for the drivers to go anywhere. But even the alliance would be stupid as all the country's are using
valuable policing resources to try and control a bunch of rich twat's.

Sure I might have a fang down a un-populated main street once or twice every once and a while, but I am not going to go top speed down a highway dodging traffic or flying threw residential areas.

If i had such urges I would rent a place like Wakefield or Oran Park for the day, I could easily afford it with such large amounts of dollar's lining my silk the pocket.
Or as I said before I would enter a Targa Rally that is more challenging in every respect of driving skills and also safer for everyone including myself.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion, but if thats your educated opinion then I have to say you are also a bit of a twat.
I stated earlier that I love cars, I am actually obsessed with them, my jaw drops at the sound of a F430 but I am not stupid.

The crashes are not hilarious, they put everyone in danger including the other road users just trying to get home for dinner. Can you tell me that that is funny?
Also I have no problem with them spending there money on these car's, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. I never said anything against them spending there money on what they see fit, all I said was wrong was a bunch of folk speeding there car's down civilian road's putting everyone in danger.

If they want to go fast take it to a track or a legitimate racing event.

Chris, you do relise that one of these crashes resulted in one man dead and his wife in hospital, don't you?
If you think that someone getting killed for no other reason than some rich guy wanting to drive his car fast is funny, then mate, you really need some help.

This event is one that puts thousands of people at risk without their consent, and without any regard for safety. IMO that's not a very good event. You like watching, so do many others, but that's still not a good enough reason for the risks they take with other peoples lives - and here we have the consequences - death of innocent people. The organisers reaction to the incident is also pretty shocking - makes me disslike the event moreso.
