kona stinky upgrade.

ok i know this isnt an easy one to answer. but dose any body have a clue on how much it would cost me to upgrade my 2003 kona stinky shock to a fox RC?( this will not be happing for a LONG time tho.)

I think it'd be A LOT more beneficial to uprade the fork from the DJ3 first (if you haven't done so already).

I think the foxRC's are around the 6 or 700 dollar mark, but I'd probably go for a Manitou Swinger instead... I'm not sure though. I'm thinking about the same upgrade myself, but haven't really heard any decent feedback about how well the new Fox Pro-Pedal shocks perform yet.

the rc pro pedals are awesome!!! well compared to the old rc's. or my vanilla. pedalling on them is a lot more effecient than most others and for a big bike it can get up and go pretty bloody fast. this is the rc pro pedal on a 04 stinky dee lux. btw go upgraded stinkys!!!!! there should be a thread somewhere in downhill or freeride titled 'stinky owners unite' add your bike to there!! btw my upgraded beast is in the post your ride section of the main forum thread, not in the album. and thats what i was looking at for my next upgrade, no adjustment sucks.

id say your better off selling the frame and buying a different frame, like sell the stinky frame and then use the money you were gonna buy the shock with.

The thing is, he has no money atm. Thats why he said he woudln't buy it in a loooong time. But unless its a present from his parents or something. Then hell ye' get a new frame instead Shauno! Thats if you got the money!

i got like $50...:( and im 13 and just got the frame.( if ur young u will know what parents r like when u want a new frame. "U HAVE JUST GOT THAT ONE! WHATS WRONG WITH IT??") but im just gonna wait it out, until i can get some money from some where.

i dont want too sell the frame, just get an upgraded shock. but yhe i didnt really set that one out very well :S

yeah it is the only downfall of the stinky, good to see they are adjustable rebound this year (vanilla R). now to search the streets in hope i will find a lonely 5th element/fox rc (dh even :D)/6way just lying on the side of the road looking for a bike to call home......dont think its going to happen though.
