Hey guys i'm new to farkin and i was just wondering if there really is a great difference between the manik and sasquatch. Im thinking of buying one soon. I will be using it for a bit of downhill and freeride. I hear the juicy 5s are a bit better than the hfx9 is that true??

In the long run the Manik would probably be a better deal:
- Better forks: adjustability
- Better hubs, especially at the rear
- Better brakes
- Better shifters/derailleur setup

Manik hands down.
Better spec.
Well imo juicy 5s are better than hayes hfx9.

I just had my 07 Manik rear hub sent off for warranty. We'll see how the new one goes.

I got mine for $1550, so I reckon that's a half decent price.

The rear deraileur and shifter is absolute junk. I wish they had of just spec'd deore. As one of my mates says, he trusts everything from sram except sram.

Meh even sole's would be fine for you jaydon. You dont need much to slow you down at your speed. The manik only has 7inch rotors so they wont be as powerful as my hfx nines but my mates juicys do feel a bit better, more modulation rather than the on/off feel of the hayes. The hub is alot better in the rear. Forks have the added compression adjustment. You do get the SRAM drivetrain over the shimano one but it isnt really that much of an upgrade, derailers are basically equivalent but shifters are slightly higher. They also come with the holzfeller bars and strem i think over the husslefelts. And another important upgrade is the pedals, the ones on the sasquatch are crap, with the manik you get replaceable pins and sealed bearings. So i suppose your getting a fair bit of upgrades for the little bit extra you pay. Although you get the polished version of the singletrack rims which i think just look cheap, my black ones look better and you still get stuck with the shitty husslefelt cranks which come loose after every ride.

They don't actually come with Holtzfeller bar and stem, they come with Syncros.

The pedals on the Manik are the same non-sealed cup and cone Wellgo's that come on the Sasquatch. The only seal is the dust cap.

Polished rims are bling:D

hussfelts are fine if you tighten them up as tight as you can as soon you get it. did that with my old stinky and theyve never came loose.

i would go the manik, seeing as theyve ditched the triples it would be a way better option.

The hussy's only came loose because they didn't machine the matching taper for the bottom bracket on the inside of the crank arm spline.

One of my mates just sent his 06' manik hussy's in for warranty and they gave him back Holtzfellers.
