Hi there

I have problems with my LX disc brakes allignment. I currently have a cannondale rush 3. The front brake keeps rubbing on the rotor. I have consulted the www.parktool.com website and followed the instructions to reset the pistons but that didn't work at all, if anything its rubbing more. Can anyone help please. I have heard of a technique using a rubber band on the lever?? but don't know too much about it.

Cheers

SImon

When my LX's needed adjusting, I loosened the bolts that attached the brake to the adaptor, then squeezed the lever then tightened up the bolts on the brake again.

Maybe try pushing on the brake while you are squeezing the lever so that the rotor is in the middle of the pads (not cloer to one side than the other)

If this doesn't fix the problem, make sure that one of the pistons hasn't seized.

Looks like the outside piston might have seized as only the inside piston moves in. Does anyone know how to fix a seized piston then???

try taking the pads out and getting a ring spanner (I forget what size) and work it in there, you should be able to lever it back into place, you may have to use your fingers to make enough space to fit the spanner in
